Great little mixer for podcasts and music
This was my first 'real' mixer, and connects to a Tascam Mixcast 4 with no issues. It's used to route mic signal from an Art Pro MPA II and line-in from a Spark Mini, and connects to my PC with some truly flexible routing options. My most-used setting is M1/M2/AUX/FX, with monitors set to 'phones'. This lets me route either wet or dry (mono) mic and music signal to any DAW, and the M1/M2/L/R setting lets me capture the entire board in stereo as needed. It's not the prettiest mixer, but it's not what makes it so versatile. Even through a recent upgrade to a Mixcast 4, the ZED gets used for most of my routing, and since I prefer the saturated sound of the MPA it does a good job of translating that sound to the M4, even at a lower bitrate. If you're just starting out in music production or podcasting, this is a good first mixer that you'll use even after you move on to more advanced and expensive units. Don't overlook this one for it's looks, it will remain a workhorse in any home studio or small venue.

So Far, So Good
So, first off. The preamps are CLEAN. I own a Mackie VLZ 402, Zoom H4n Pro 2016 edition, Tascam DR100 MKii, and as of a few hours ago I have an Allen and Heath Zedi 10 too. First preamp I have used that wasn't a disappointment immediately right out the gate due to sound quality/noise. Zoom H4n Pro would have to be next guess in my line up, but its still nothing compared to this if you ask me. I turned my pre amp all the way up full and I do hear some of the noise floor, of course, but it's maybe 1/10th the level I get from my Mackie at ~45/60 DB. I mean it's just no competition. Zedi 10 destroys all these other devices. With regards to 'low usb output'; well. No. Not so much. Simple. Press the M1 M2 L R USB routing option button down. Raise your main mix fader level higher than 0. SOLVED. I saw a review online stating this is the lowest cost multitrack mixer on the market. Maybe it was in 2017. Dunno. But actually the Soundcraft Notepad 12FX is a good bit cheaper and also does 4 track. Regarding setup. I plugged it into Windows 10 Professional and never had to click on anything. I don't think I'm even going to touch the drivers unless I run into any issues. So far I've used it in CS:GO (a game), and to record to Audacity, and to output to my recorders just to dial those in ,,And.. so far.. no issue. Just freaking fantastically way cleaner preamps than any other device I listed above, hands down, not even going to waste my time doing a demo. Believe me. Don't. *shrug* I got mine. ;P
