Q: Can i wear this in the shower and when swimming ?

Aloha The necklace is waterproof but we do not recommend wearing in a pool with chlorine. Chlorine is not good for the cord.

Q: What is the symbol etched on the side of the hook and how can i make the image standout more?

The pattern on the hook was inspired by "makaloa" (woven) designs resembling those found on a woven "lahala" (leaves from a tree) mat. The binding together of individual elements, the leaves, creates a stronger unified whole, as in "ohana" (family) or a band of warriors. One of the primary functions of Hawaiian warriors tattoos was protection in battle. Making the etching stand out should by done only by a professional carver.
