Amazing hiking pack
I bought this backpack after having used a high sierra hiking backpack from Costco for years. It wasn't until I went into REI to get properly measured that I'd realized I was using an improperly fitted backpack and found this. The Osprey tempest is a women's cut hiking backpack. I never realized how well a properly fitted pack would be until I got this. For reference I am 5'2" with a torso length of 14 inches so I bought the XS size. The backpack is very comfy and lightweight. It's easy to adjust the straps to fit snugly against my body. I will say I have always loved Osprey. They make really high quality backpacks and are backed by warranty in case there's issues. To be fair though, my other Osprey I've had for YEARS and never felt the need to contact them for problems. The backpack does have a waist strap with pockets which kind of fit my Samsung S21 but honestly it barely fits in there. It's more of a struggle tj try to tuck it in there but it's doable. The bladder pocket as many others have noted is tight, but it's not necessarily unusable. I was able to fit a 2L Hydrapak bladder in with some effort. I think you're best bet would be to put the bladder in first before you start packing your bag. There's a nice helmet lock on the outside of the pack which frankly I don't use much except to attach my hat if I bring one hiking. All in all I would say this backpack is fantastic if you want a light, small backpack for a day hike. It's not meant for backpacking as the XS is only 18L but it will definitely fit all your essentials.

Great pack! Minor accessibility issues with belt around hips and issues fitting water bladder.
Great quality. Game changer for hiking! I never knew that a backpack could be so well dispersed weight wise! Before I used my old high school backpack for hiking, and now this has me looking forward to long hikes. The only thing that feels hard are the following: The bladder water bag doesn’t have the room to put it in, so sliding it in is tough. The belt doesn’t go all the way around and when I put the backpack on, I have to arrange them every time so it makes me dread taking the pack off unless I’m going to stop for five minutes or something(if it’s a quick stop to grab something, I ask myself how much I need that item). Also using the belt has me twisting way around to get into them for my phone or anything else. I have to take off one of the straps to get into the belts, and that defeats the purpose of accessibility of the belts to hold convenient things (chapstick, bandana, phone, headphones). That’s a bummer, because this pack is well made and light! I don’t even like purple and love my purple backpack! It doesn’t get dirty easily either. I think washing it will be complicated, haven’t gotten that adventurous yet: because you WILL sweat a lot on the spine of the pack. The structure is needed to keep it up and there’s no way around it, even though it’s meshed and breathable. Also, the fact that your body heat is against the section where the water bladder is makes the water heat up against your body. That’s a bummer. For reference, I got a small and am 5’7” and 160 lbs. fits fine except for the belt.

Perfect bag for hiking and camping trips
Incredibly made backpack that is perfect for outdoor activities. I used this on my trip to Machu Picchu that consisted of several days of hiking and camping. It fit lots of food, supplies, and clothes. The back and the waist straps both lessen the tension and weight on the back and shoulders. It also has space for a water bladder and a hidden pocket for valuables. It also fit under the airplane seat as my personal bag. Highly recommend and I look forward to using it on future hikes and camping trips!

Best day pack EVER
This pack is perfect for taking to the mountains while hiking. It holds everything I need. I love the quality of all the outer mesh pockets. Big pockets on the waist band and the whole thing is adjustable so the weight is on my hips instead of pulling on my neck and shoulders. The padded waist and shoulder straps are so comfortable plus the air behind the lumbar area is great… less back sweat. It took a bit to find where the water bladder went. It has one bladder hanger in the center but would be nice to add two more to the left and right to hang different bladders. I already had an Osprey backpacking pack so I knew this was high quality and definitely worth the money.

great light back pack
awesome back pack, really comfortable light and plenty of space, only down size is after some use the check straps is coming loose form the left end, it's a little hard to get it back in In place but double if you have strong finger, overall I will buy it again

Perfect for women torso.
Osprey backpacks are good quality packs, this is a very nice backpack, comfortable for day hikes. Totally adjustable, my torso is 17 1/2 inches, 126 pounds and 5’5” high. It fit perfectly! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the hip pockets are too small for my iPhone 12. Osprey should make the hip pockets bigger. So at the end, Gregory Maya was the winner for me.

Great multi-purpose pack
This pack is a great size to double as an every-day pack or a day-hiker. I carry my camera equipment in it and still have room for essentials like snacks, jackets, etc. The zippers feel super smooth and there are adjustment straps in all the right places (also super smooth to operate) to ensure all-day comfort. I carry my larger size Hydroflask bottle in one of the side pockets. I get a little creative and secure it in the pocket by running a carabiner through the handle on the bottle lid and then through the zipper pulls on the pack. I haven't found anything not to like about this pack. I haven't tried to put a water bladder in the hydration pocket yet. I think it will be ok if I stick to a 1.5-2L bladder. Unless you just need a bigger pack, I don't think you can go wrong with the Osprey Tempest 20L.
