I bought this 6 pack of balls from Franklin because I wanted quality. Unfortunately these aren't the playground ball of my youth. These balls are much smaller, but the worst thing is, you can't leave them where the sun can shine on them on a hot day. The outer rubber coating tears as the inner bladder expands due to the heat. We're on our last ball and the kids forgot it outside and I noticed before it got too hot and brought the ball in. It was too late, the outer later had torn and although the ball wasn't leaking yet I feel it's days are numbered. The outer layer is too thin to be an outside ball unless you live in Sweden or Greenland.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The reviews in this said no pump included but the picture showed one so I decided to give it a try. I was very happily surprised when the pump showed up with the deflated ball. The pump works. Works great & is perfect for this ball. The needle on the tip of the pump comes off and goes into a compartment on the end of it so that you don't have it laying around for someone to get poked. The ball inflated in about two minutes and it's holding air great. It's very durable and we plan to use it for gaga ball. I love the colors, and it's even cooler looking than the picture in this listing. I give this an A+ and highly recommend this ball. For the playground, kickball, gaga ball or whatever. Look no further.

Our grand kids love balls—all shapes and varieties. As they grow, so do ball sizes. The Franklin playground ball is the biggest in our collection, but its large size doesn’t deter the two and three year old kids from playing with it too. The ball is light enough for them to toss around, and bouncy enough for the older kids to play four square. We’ve bought balls online before, and some came deflated. This one came inflated and needed no adjustments—it was immediately ready for play, and hasn’t needed air since.Overall, this is a great ball for general play. I’ve included pictures showing exactly how big this ball is (8 ½” diameter) and where it fits into the ball size category. The smallest ball in the photo is size 2, then 3…all the way up to standard basketball size. The other picture shows a close-up of its nice texture—the kids find this ball easier to hold than dimpled ones.
