Fantastic powder for pale, dry, sensitive skin
As someone with dry, sensitive skin I need to use rich moisturizers which can leave my face a bit shiny. I like to tone down the shine with a bit of translucent powder but find nearly all of them to either dry out my skin, cause irritation, or be too dark in color (I am extremely pale). This Cover Girl powder in translucent is by far the best powder I have ever used. The white color doesn’t go on chalky and also doesn’t darken as the day goes on. I can’t speak to whether the white translucent shade would be an ideal choice for darker skin tones but as a pale person it is amazing. Applied with a fluffy brush, the powder dampens the shine down to a lovely glow with no tightness or itching (even after touch-ups). The compact stays closed in my purse and I carry a brush along for on-the-go touch-ups.If I have a complaint it is that the powder can get quite crumbly once you reach the pan (as do most pressed powders) but I still find I’m able to use up 95%+ of the product. I have gone through 6 or 7 of these over the last few years and have no interest in trying other powders which says a lot!

Great coverage, lasts all day
I used Cover Girl's "Simply Powder" for decades as a foundation. I recently discovered this "Simply Ageless" powder and love it even more. Glides on nicely and provides a smooth coverage of any skin imperfections. I am age 61 so maybe as I've aged I need the extra coverage now.

It's a tricky product
It came on patchy and unforgiving on my dry skin, and it pulls a bit lighter than it should be. Leaves a white cast.Edit review on 4th of July: I played around a little bit more and found out this is a product that does not work with a lot of primers. Once I put on my face cream and waited for it to absorb completely, it actually went on beautifully. I canceled my return since it can look good on dry skin, just with minimal prep work. I'll attach a pic of when I put it over a primer, and one without.

Not as pictured. Not as described. Much lighter. Looks more like the picture for "Translucent."
I can't remember a time when I didn't use Cover Girl for all my makeup. Sad to say, no more. About a year ago, I brought eye shadow from Cover Girl. The first time I opened it, some of the little sections were crumbly, When I put it in a drawer, the entire sections started falling out. Also, I bought CG blush that is barely visible. I wasn't happy, but it was my favorite brand, and nothing is perfect, so now, when I need powder, I went back to CG.Three choices. The first was white in the picture. I am very fair, so I selected Fair Ivory, the middle choice, to add some color to my face. When I put it on, it made my face purely white, not as pictured. When I bought it, I saw it was now Cover Girl - Olay. I thought - good, in with Olay - no problems now. Wrong. So, unfortunately, it's goodbye Cover Girl. Who has time to cut and tear through he packaging only to get the wrong product? The only positive is I didn't have to take it to UPS to return. Once again, THANK YOU, AMAZON for that!

It Works!
This actually works! I've stopped using foundation and use a small brush to cover lines and discolorations with a light shade of this powder, then I go over my face with a beige powder that's closer to my skin color. It doesn't collect in wrinkles and lines the way foundation does.
