Pretty much plug and play, cools well. Kinda noisy, but is mounted in front bedroom of my fifth wheel. Used original thermostat and control box, no issues at all. Purchased inside diverter that was suggested. Has controls on it that are not needed, non-ducted application. Is very heavy and awkward, suggest two grown men and a stout boy to move it on to the top of trailer

Installed without much trouble on our 14-year-old Motorhome, using the original thermostat and controller. Cools well, took a bit of adjustment to remove rattles, because the rubber feet had to settle. Did not come with instructions, but can be downloaded. It is a loud unit, but so was the original. NOTE: THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE A HEAT PUMP!

We just purchased our 2nd Dometic A/C unit for our new enclosed trailer. It arrived in undamaged box. It was installed and wired by an Electrician had proper voltage and would not work. Roof housing was removed and fan motor bolts were loose or out with fan laying against shroud. Got it repaired and working but disappointed unit was clearly broken not assembled correctly in manufacturing. Difficult to return HEAVY items through Amazon so we had to make it work! Thank God for Electricians!

Works awesome and easy to install. Other's have recommended getting the gasket kit, but it comes with them on the bottom of the unit. The only thing I found was due to the curve of my roof the rear rubber vibration mounts don't meet the roof and I need add additional ones to fill the space and support the rear of the unit. Also, this is a vented/non-vented unit. If you are using at non-vented be sure to get the Air Distribution unit for it at the same time. That comes with the bolts you need to secure the unit to the roof. The AD unit was easy to install as well.

It’s plug and play, which is not necessarily how your Dometic Penguin came from the factory originally. Took a mobile mechanic 2 visits to get our setup running (at a hourly rate, no less, costing me an additional $200). Make sure to purchase the ADB, as well, as you need a new one at the time of AC installation.

The first unit we received was incorrect but customer service representative assisted with getting the correct unit. We were able to replace AC unit in under an hour and it works great!!

Great price, fast shipping, was in great shape. Had this thing on the roof and running on my Thor Palazzo in one hour. It’s quieter than the original and a straightforward swap. Could not be happier.

absolutely horrible workmanship. After installing the unit on my roof and putting the ADB on the inside, I turned on the unit and it did nothing but hum. I removed the cover to find that the compressor fan was hitting the housing because the motor mount was loose. I tightened that and the unit ran but had a screeching noise. I had to look at the condenser fan to find that the set screw was only finger tight as if it had never been touched and the squirrel cage was able to move back-and-forth. The only reason I’m giving two stars is once I fix them it is a wonderful air conditioner.

No instruction in the box 9 Day late .

J'ai ouvert ce colis 6 mois après l'achat pour le poser sur mon van et le bras était croche au point de faire sauter mon système d'alimentation tellement il tirait fort. On me dit d'en acheter un autre et qu'ils peuvent rien faire vu qu'on a dépassé 30jours.. pas de garantie, pas d'aide rien... Après recherches, j'ai appris que c'était commun ce trouble sur ces unités mais normalement le vendeur propose une solution.. dommage 2000$ au poubelle..
