After just 6 months, with reasonably careful care, the board has spontaneously developed a split/crack at one end. It's 3 inches long and runs all the way through the board.

You need to treat these boards with oil for at least several months (once a month) if you want the board to last for a very long time. After that, you only need to oil it when you see dry spots on the board.

Nice, rich looking Acacia wood end grain cutting board. I did oil the board with a combination product of bees wax and olive oil and it deepened the color and vibrancy. The size is perfect for my island, vegetables won’t go flying off this cutting board!

Use it for shaping my sourdough. Only need to oil it at 1st few use. Get better after each time!
