These are the ear-pads I use to update many of my headphones...
Hello all...I've been blogging about a variety of headphones - mainly those below $150 USD or so - over the past 6 months. As such, as many of you may well know, there are a multitude of headphones out there from which to choose from - and oftentimes, the choices are not easy.Except for a few cases, the stock ear-pads on most headphone models tend to leave the users wanting after a few uses. Whether it be for comfort, or for added audio qualities, many serious headphone users tend to upgrade in one form or another. Now enter these particular Brainwavz circular ear pads. Awhile back I ordered my first pair - by the way, I chose the red perforated ones which really look great - for the Drop-HiFiMan HE-35X headphones. And what a difference they made - in long-term comfort, appearance, and substantial audio improvements to that particular headphone set. I became so impressed with them that I ordered several more pairs (all red - subjective, I know) to have on hand since I knew I was going to review more headphones. As it came to be, I'm glad I ordered the extra pairs because I put them on several other headphone makes - and in each and every case, the comfort levels and audio output levels improved substantially. So yes, call me hooked on these. These particular Brainwavz circular pads are easy to apply to most headphones, they look really nice on a variety of headphone models, and in all the cases (so far), the audio output qualities were improved (from minor to major improvements). That's all one can really ask of ear-pad upgrades, isn't it!I give them high marks, thus the 5 stars.

Great material. Much better than thin originals.
Bought these for my Audio Technica AD900X headsets that I bought from my son after 5 years of use..... at a discount. Lol.My son revisited the AD900X headphones again after I installed these pads on them. He said the AD900X sounded better than the stock ear pads when they were new. I have to tell you that I love the AD900x but where I feel they cut a corner is with the cheap ear pads they put on them from the factory. You can buy them for literally $10.00 on line and they will never feel as plush as the memory foam.I researched many pads and how they effect sound quality in every way.Very well made. Strong. Very comfortable for long sessions. I will buy the Brainwavz Perforated Memory Foam PU again.

Comfortable on DT770 Pro's at the price of audio leakage and awkward fit.
Just received these today so my opinion may change over time, but initial impressions are favorable in most aspects.-InstallationDespite what other reviewers have said, they do fit the DT770 Pro's but prepare to have the fight of your life getting them on. The material is stretchy enough where it likely won't tear, but I still advise practicing a little caution to avoid a worst-case scenario. Some may have better means to do it, but I had to basically pinch down with my thumb start from the bottom than work my way around pinching down with each finger while stretching the last bit over. If you're feeling brave, it might be worthwhile to cut off about half the radius of the material that wraps over the lip for a tighter and less awkward looking fit but it's not at all necessary to do so.-ComfortNow, as far as comfort goes, I'm very happy with these. They're slightly more firm than what I had expected, but not to a point where they put too much pressure on your head. While I wouldn't advise it, these are thick enough where one could comfortably lay on their side while wearing if that gives any bearing to how cushioned they are. I've never been a fan of pleather as they often trap heat (especially compared to the original Velour pads) but these are certainly more breathable than the usual pleather earpads I've had in the past. Despite all this, a part of me is wishing I'd gotten the Velour pads instead, but I think that had more to do with how long I've been using them and how I feel these change the soundstage.-PerformanceWith the mentioned soundstage, this is the Brainwavz weakest aspect in my opinion. Compared to the Velour pads designed specifically for the DT770's, this impacts the audio both due to the additional distance/position of your ear to the speaker, and materials used. The DT 770's normally project audio where everything is balanced but distinct in a way I would call "lively" while these feel as though they blend all the audio functionally losing the personality I've come to love in the 770s.So long as you have access to an equalizer, I found it was easily remedied with the included settings for Peace Equalizer, but this is entirely personal preference so toy with it a bit to find what suits you.The other aspect that I think plays a role in this "muted" feeling is that on initial wear, these seem to leak a bit of audio. Being that it's memory foam, this seems to become less of a factor after about 5-10 minutes of wear (although it's still present to a degree), but if you're concerned about your privacy for whatever reason, this may be something you want to keep in mind. I imagine after a few months of wear, this will become less of an issue.-Final ThoughtsWhile my review may seem a bit critical, keep in mind that my personal goal is to address what I consider to be the more common concerns.Overall, I'm pleased with them and I expect for these to grow on me with time. My suggestion is that if you've been perfectly content with the velour pads and just need a replacement, continue using those. If you want to try something different with the benefits of comfort, price and longevity, these are perfectly suitable.(Also sorry if the condition of my headphones bothers anyone, I've had them for 5 years and I'm currently in the process of fixing them up so they last me.)

Fits Sony MDR-v6, but not perfectly
I think I should have purchased oval replacement pads. These fit snugly on Sony MDR-v6 Studio Monitor headphones 🎧 but not perfectly as the Sony ear cups are oval and these are round. A little tough to get on, but they are solid and secure when on. Much more comfortable than the OEM Sony pads, hoping these don't peel after a few years like the OEM Sony ones do.

Comfortable earpads
These are large over the ear earpads and they fit great. I placed these over the install clips of an old pair of 2018 PS Gold headset. They look nice and offer greater comfort compared to the original Pulse 3D headset earpads. They don't alter the sound too much but give it a bit more bass. These feel good and don't get to hot which is why I opted for the perforated pair. I had to make some modifications to fit the Pulse but these are very comfortable and I think they look nice.

Claims to be compatible with DT770 and DT880, and by extension the DT990. Not true at all.
They don't fit the DT990 Pro at all, and the 990 uses the same pads / pad mount / dimensions etc. As it's sister products the DT 770 and the DT 880. Miserably tight fit when I got them on, and they were uneven looking when I managed to make it happen. The backing ring that grabs the headphones is just.. way, way, way too long and bunches up on the sides of the earcups and prohibits earcup movement. Also, they aren't leather - it's Polyurethane (plastic). Yikes.

Fits perfectly to Plantronics Backbeat Pro
I was looking ear cushions for the plantronics backbeat pro. The problem was I got the headphones from Europe and it seems like those models cushions were not available in India directly from Plantronics. And I think due to sweaty and hot weather conditions in India, the ear cushion of my original headphones were severely damaged and broken with cushions coming out. Thanks to Brainwavz though, they recommended to buy round ones with dimension of 100mm by 100mm. The actual one for the plantronics backbeat pro are of 95mm by 95mm, So I was bit skeptical. But I took the suggestion and bought these rounds ones. But for time being they feel comfortable, they cover the year completely and they fit with these headphones.Just one precautions during attaching them to headsets. I did a check a video on youtube. I found that these ear cushions don't have something to stick but they go over the round plates (which you remove from the headphone first). But when you attach them over the plate, the slots of the plates get covered and you can no longer fit them back, but solution was pretty simple. you simply have to cut the extra covering over the slots and then plates fit back to headphones.
