Good punch
It will bend but is still better than other 1/16" punches. Had a very stubborn pin to drive out, went through 2 other punches without any result, finally got it out with the Starrett. The Starrett did bend but I cut it shorter, so now have a short, sturdy 1/16" punch.

The best gunsmithing punches out there
I do gun repair for a living, 1/16 punches break/bend often so I have tried a lot of them hoping to find a less expensive one that will work right. Save yourself some time looking around and just buy these if you want a punch that will stay straight. They have really done the legwork to find the correct metal/heat treating to make a really great punch. I tried some other US made 1/16 punches recently, as well as some foreign tekton and they all bent extremely easily, you could not punch out a pin that had any sort of resistance without them bending. So I bought the starrett 1/16 and repeatedly can punch out the same exact pin with no bending. For this pin size especially, the higher priced starrett is cheaper than the competition, because it will easily last 3-4 times as long. These punches have good geometry/knurling and are a pleasure to use. After realizing the difference in starrett vs other brand punches recently I looked through my drawer of punches, every single one that looked "old" (in other words every one that had lasted a while) was a starrett brand. Many of the other brand punches had bent and were rebent back straight, all the starretts were unbent. Only one starret in the drawer had ever broken and that was an old 1/16" punch converted to a pin punch, still going strong in that regard. I'm done trying out junk and will only buy starrett punches from now on. The only exception might be a larger diameter punch that I plan to use incorrectly as a tool to turn something, in that case the softer cheap ones might be a better choice.

Clearly a high quality tool.
Clearly a high quality tool. Unlike 2 others I used recently, it didn't bend on a tight pin.

It's a Starrett!
What can I say...it's a Starrett...well made and functional. The product description was accurate and the shipping and order fulfillment were excellent.

Did the Job where Others Failed
Awesome tool - drove out a tiny pin that absolutely RUINED my 1/16th" Grace punch. This one was much better designed with a small tip that expands toward the grip for additional sturdiness and control. So impressed, I will try to find an "excuse" to lay in a full set of the Starrett punches.

Stellar tooling, American made. Starrett all the way
I do a fair amount of work on firearms, cars, tools, etc. you’ll be hard pressed to find a tool that is of better quality than starrett. Maybe as good, but I doubt better. I love all my Starrett tools and actually enjoy the job more when I use them. Not only do I get a lifetime of use from them, but some of my starrett tools have been in my family for 2-3 generations and will still be productive when I’m long gone. Extremely good quality, American made, a joy to use, durable and an heirloom. Everything I want in any of my tools.

Still excellent punches...does measure 1.5mm if that matters to you
Got this as a replacement for one that I bought in the 90s and finally mangled enough to merit a new one. Still made in the US, still great quality steel and tempering. I do wish they offered these smaller punches in a longer length, but you can get that from Gedore if need be (also excellent punches). I never bothered to measure my old one, but in response to a sizing question here, this 2021 punch does in fact measure 1.5mm at the tip (actually about 1.516mm) rather than 1/16". It is correctly and slightly relieved for the remainder of it's length. The usable pin length is indeed 9/16" - if you need more and still want a high quality punch, the length on the Gedore 1.5mm is 30mm (just over twice the length) and those are much better than the majority of long punches sold with the possible exception of Mayhew Pro series (but no roll pin nib on the Gedore). The Tekton is decent, still US made, but length is in between as is quality. These punches are comparatively delicate (all of them in these small sizes) so if you have particularly tight fitting pins or if they're frozen or rusted, best to get them started with a drop of penetrant and a center punch and then use this one to follow through. Like broken taps and drill bits, if a punch breaks it's usually operator error or bad luck, but if you truly get a defective one that shatters, Starrett should take care of you if you ask (although you will probably find it more cost effective to just buy a new one instead).

La punta se dobló con poquisimos usos. También compré otro de 3 mm y ese de momento aguanta bien.

I was shocked to find a high-end tool like a starette punch on Amazon, but that's exactly what I received.
