At the loosest point, it can go to just about 18 inches (17.7in.) which is the typical standard length for women's necklaces, but there are two shorter places to clasp. One makes it 16 inches and the shortest of them makes it about 13-14 inches I believe.

If the jewelry item is very dirty, leave it to soak in the water for about 10 minutes. Rinse and pat dry with a soft, clean cloth.
