Does the job with plenty of torque!
I bought this as used like new. There was quite a discount from the new price. It didn’t come in the original box but all parts were there. There were also a couple small scratches that are barely noticeable. As for the tool, it worked like new. Right after opening, I grabbed a socket and checked to see it it would free the lugs on my truck. The lugs were tightened to 150# torque and came off easily. Removing lugs was one of the main reasons I bought it. That alone makes this tool worth having. I was fortunate to find it used, but It’s still a nice tool to have if you DIY any type of vehicle work. The portability is a big plus over air, I’ll be keeping it in my trucks tool bin just in case.

Excellent quality and performance
I bought this tool to use when changing or rotating wheels/tires on my travel trailer. These lug nuts are torqued to 115 foot pounds (or pound-feet if you aren't old like me) on 4 wheels, 5 lug nuts per wheel for a total of 20 lug nuts. This tool easily breaks these nuts loose and spins them off the 2 inch long threaded studs in about 2 seconds per each. Power to spare- no contest, no hesitation. Prior to this I had an air tool impact wrench that struggled with this same application. I hesitated to spend the significant amount of dollars to purchase this tool but now that I have it I'm very happy that I did spend that money and have a top of the line solution. No negatives in this design- durable, compact, efficient. Highly recommend!

What crank bolt ...
Incredibly powerful. It even took off my Honda accord crank bolt with a harmonic balancer socket.

Wish I’d bought one sooner
Life saver. Why have I not gone cordless sooner……..SMHUse the heck out of this thing. Quality is excellent from this brand, as I now have about 10 cordless Makita tools. Will be buying more. Whatever brand you start with, just stick to it unless it is junk. That way you can interchange batteries and chargers quicker.I recommend Makita if you haven’t started your tool collection yet. There are other equal brands like this that I’ve used, but I have no reason to switch.

Amazing power its all true
Bought Makita XWT08Z impact wrench to do one thing...remove a honda harmonic balancer crankshaft bolt at 181 ft-lbs known to be extremely difficult to break lose. I'm a weekend DYI hobbyist but I could not believe it took only 2 short bursts to loosen this bolt after all I read online about how difficult it was to remove. It was so easy with this tool and highly recommend it for this type of work for those looking at a tool for that purpose. I only used the Lisle 19mm socket made for crank bolt removal with this impact wrench and prepped crank bolt with PB blaster couple days beforehand..did not use any crank immobilizer tool for removal..amazing power!Tried on lug nuts at the highest setting to loosen and tighten but be careful when tightening because I did tighten a lug to 85 ft-lbs with 1-sec short burst that I discovered after using a torque wrench to do the final tightening and suggest a lower setting. Tool is on the heavier side but evidences the metal build quality with strategically placed rubber the around the head for good grip and high impact plastic handle, like all Makita impact tools. Also has a brake to stop rotation when you release the trigger, which is something I wish corded impact wrenches would provide. I also own a 18V Makita impact driver set and did try the 3.0 Ah battery on it, that does work but only at the lowest setting. I did not actually try to hammer anything with that battery just fitment and to know battery would work. Deferred to use the new 5.0 Ah battery for any work at the highest setting uses. I have to admit my 3.0 Ah batteries are the older (no star) type... guessing that it may have slightly different chip on it that limits the power setting on the wrench. Overall extremely impressed and happy with this tool and will find many uses for it.

Probably the best tool I own
I’m a “backyard” mechanic, and don’t have a shop set up where I could look at getting a large air compressor for an impact. This puppy does the trick! Haven’t met a bolt it won’t break. Axle nuts are no match. Gone are the days of removing the center cap, then reattaching the wheel to crack those. Couple chugs and done. Makes quick work of a teardown. Love this thing! It’s a big tool, so not particularly lightweight and it’s Makita, so not cheap. Only reason I have those 2 categories 4 stars. Definitely a 5 star tool.

Makita makes a durable product
I am undoubtedly a Makita guy for power tools. This is my 4th Makita tool and 2 months in it serves me just like I thought it would. Yes, its a touch heavy, and yes slightly cumbersome. Hold on to the darn thing and bust some nuts. I bought this as a small repair shop and specifically for old rusted junk that I work on daily I want nuts and bolts to either come off as the should or break off one or the other but one of those needs to happen, this impact gun archives that. I was given a small Makita lock bit impact 5 years ago and told it did not work. I bought a battery and still beat the bag out of it daily 7 days a week most weeks, 5 years later, and with previous apparent hard use. I now own 3 batteries, 1 radio (bought used, very used, works great) 1 reciprocating saw, 1 clip lock impact and 1 1/2" impact all are amazing. Register your tools clean them every so often maintain them and they are well worth the money. Can't wait to get another Makita product 18v drill is next on the list
