It runs small so unless you like your clothes snug or "form fitting" I would get a medium.

Will this shirt shrink after washing it? Not sure whether to get it a size bigger or not.

Yes it shrinks,.. any article of clothing with more than half its contents made in cotton shrinks in high temps. I also frequently have issues with buying medium size shirts as they fit initially but after one wash i suddenly find when i lift my arms it becomes a mid drift as i have a long torso(happened to this shirt). Safe to say if you also have this problem buy a size up, doesn't happen alot more often than not medium is the right size.
