Naturtint Permanent Hair Color 6N Dark Blonde (Pack of 6), Ammonia Free, Vegan, Cruelty Free, up to 100% Gray Coverage, Long Lasting Results

I have been using Naturtint for 20-25 years, since I first found it at Whole Foods around 2000-2004? The leading commercial hair dye, as well as the ones used by professional hairstylists, were making my scalp itch a lot, so I knew there was a problem with them, likely an allergy that was getting worse. I switched to this product and have never looked back. I generally color my own hair to save money and time, but when I go to a hair salon, I take it with me and the stylists are happy to use it. I get compliments on the color (I actually mix 6N with 7N to match my natural color) including from hairstylists. The color lasts, my scalp doesn’t itch, the spillover dye washes off my face easily, the price is very competitive, its availability has been steady for 20 years, and the product is easy to use. As a bonus, it comes with a conditioner that I have found comparable to an Argan conditioner. Since I use two boxes a month, I never run out of free conditioner. Bottom line: this is the best hair color I have found for my needs so far. There are safety concerns with all hair dyes, though, so there is room for innovation in this product group.

Great color natural looks

It’s a good product, leaves my hair soft and it doesn’t dry out.

This color is a medium to dark brown on my hair which is gray around my face. The color fades significantly after the first shampoo which is helpful. I love this brand and have tried several of their colors. My hair has been(high end) salon colored and highlighted for many years but I have decided, since covid, that I want to break away from salon dependance! Naturtint leaves my hair is great condition and the colors look very natural. Best to pay close attention to the color on the box rather than the name of the color. A packet of Ardell’s from Sally's keeps the red tones at bay. Use a shampoo for color treated hair and the color will last noticeably longer. I use Aveda. I gave this one a lower rating because of the misleading color name.

I like this product and usually buy 6 boxes at once because of the price break. I've used both this color and 5N which starts out quite a bit darker. That would be the only negative thing I might say about this product is that between colorings, it will fade quite a bit. I'm not sure whether this is normall with all hair colorings or not, because I used henna to color my hair before this product. What I appreciate about it is that there are way less harsh chemicals in this product, and it doesn't smelly badly at all. It also only takes from 30-40 minutes which is tremendously easy compared to the 2 hours it took for me to leave in henna, not to mention the mixing and application involved. I am quite happy with this product, and I believe I have used it approximately 9 times at this writing.
