I heard good reviews about castor oil in general, so I searched and compared different brands and types (black & regular). From what I gathered, the Black Castor oil was better or more potent so that's where I began. Then I compared brands and their reviews. First and foremost, whatever oil I purchased needed to be nonGMO & organic. Also, I didn't want any other additives. In my search, I found that Heritage Store brand seem to have the highest ratings & the fairest price. I chose to order it through Amazon because of the free Prime shipping available at the time. My reason for wanting to purchase was for moisturizing my skin. I have very dry skin at times on my face, which to me is embarassing. I could be a zombie, due to the way my skin flakes at times. A little exagerated but it does have an effect on self esteem. I've been using combinations of Red Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, & Raspberry Seed Oil... either on their own for a few months, or in combinations. I found that so far the Castor Oil, on its own, seems to do a better job of keeping my face supple. Keep in mind, this oil is very thick, a little goes a long way. I received this the last wk of Dec 2016, and I've only gone through 2 or 3 Tbspns. (see photo). It's now mid Feb 2017. It may be too thick for most people to wear throughout the day. For me, I don't mind. I rather my face have a sheen for now while it's healing than have patches with flakes of skin. I also apply this on my lips right before going to bed. This seems to last longer than the Coconut Oil too, where it seems to absorb too quickly. My lips feel great in the morning. One last thing I'd like to mention is that there is a nutty smell which some people may not like. The smell is usually more noticeable when first applied but dissipates minutes later (at least to me). I don't mind it as long as it's a natural product & it works. ***Update 4-14-17*** I've seen a noticeable improvement in my facial complexion. It no longer dries out like it used to. I still use this oil, but now even thinner coats and I usually apply once before makeup (basic eye shadow, liner, mascara, & lip color... no foundation), and then again at night after washing my face but I apply little around eyes & use on my lips. I'm so pleased with the results! I've broken out less too (as in pimples). At this rate, this bottle should last up to another year! The level is still above the label. I couldn't ask for more. Yes, it took some time for my skin to heal, but I didn't mind. I know natural products need time to work. This was still a faster over all improvement than all the oils I had used in the past, with even better immediate results. I sincerely recommend this oil! The seller I used was "BIGFLY". I feel that it's important to post the seller used too, because some use knockoffs. This can be helpful when finding different results between people & sellers.

Has completely reversed years on my facial skin and I don’t even look old, in fact on mom’s side we all look younger than our age and have been told that forever but y’all, I’m 41 and after several months of this oil on my face every night before bed I started getting compliments about how amazing my skin looks! I’ve never had acne or blemishes but somehow this has made my skin looks so much younger, tighter and more plump. Hydrated. Forever my secret. Sometimes now I just put around my eyes when I’m too tired to do more. It has completely removed my eye floaters too! Remember this is the BLACK castor (stronger) so it can smell like ashes. Make sure to mix it here and there to distribute it evenly so you’re not left with only ashe smell at the end.. Or just buy their regular castor. So much I could say on this product it’s my favorite!

I was using it for hair pack. But gave up as it is sooo messy. Just sitting in closet for now until I find another idea for it. I do agree though that it is very good for skin and lips for healing. But its more easier to use when its blended with few other ingredients.

Quality product. Use for fibroma under arch of foot and moisturize heels of feet. Works well.

I have been using both Heritage store regular castor oil and the black castor oil religiously. I switch from time to time between the two. I apply it EVERYWHERE! My hair is full, thick, and soft. My eyelashes are finally looking full and longer after trying for years. It is more noticeable with mascara but even one thin layer. I use it all over my face and has help with the red tones and my dark under eyes. I use it in my belly botton before bed and wake up with absolutely no bloating. And it helps for my youngest son's growing pains by applying to his knees before bed. I just absolutely love it. My skin shines and is the softest. And the smell is so earthy. I'm just obsessed
