Steve Smith and Hudson knocked it out of the park with this book. Finally a text and dvd that deals with the specifics of motion and technique and Steve Smith's take on this. This is just the text I have been waiting for. Steve Smith covers everything you want to know about technique, motion, flow and the mechanics and reasons behind it. Congrats on finally writing the book I have been waiting for and for putting in a lot of the teachings of Freddie Gruber for those of us that did not have the privilege of studying with him.

Steve Smith is one of the most brilliant drummers in the world. He is a master technician and this DVD is a comprehensive tutorial in a variety of matched grip approaches. Steve articulates clearly and concisely the uses of French, German and American grips. I highly recommend this DVD

This is an excellent resource for those drummer's wishing to fine tune their technique.I don't think a person can go wrong with any of Steve Smith's dvd's.I especially like the Tony Williams style French Grip, I'd never known about it before & I'm using it for the first time. It gives a person some serious power when needed.

I am very glad I got this book as a beginner drummer. You can learn and practice the most ergonomic and relaxed techniques for holding the sticks and apply them to the drum set with ease and fluidity. Although difficult at first, once you get the hang of the grips, it becomes second nature. I think this is an invaluable addition to drum technique instruction literature.

This is a GREAT resource from one of America's best drummers out there. If it had not been for Steve Smith and Neil Peart, I wouldn't be the drummer I am today!I have not gone through this whole thing yet, but plan on doing a full review when time permits as my Steve Smith Drummer Appreciation page on FB.

Who would have thought Steve Smith could come up with yet another idea for drummers to learn from. Not only is this a great resource for who play, or wish to develop, matched grip playing, it also includes so marvellous applications of rudiments around the kit. A great text supported by a generous DVD.

ottimo articolo e molto utile per conoscere le varie impugnature, il dvd alegato è ottimo.unico problema: la consegna. Più volte il corriere BRT non ha trovato il mio indirizzo e quindi ho ricevuto il prodotto con immenso ritardo.

Sehr interessantes buch, jedes wort und jeder rhythmus ist exakt ins buch transkribiert. Sehr hilfreich für technikumstellungen vor allem für ältere musiker, die schon sehr eingefahrene wege gehen
