I bought this when our push-button flusher thing broke, then gave it to my husband (who broke the original) to install once it arrived. After a week of annoyingly manually pressing the button inside the tank in order to flush my john, I set out to tackle the project myself. Knowing lots of nothing about toilets and having a busted one on mine, I looked to this replacement piece for advice. It had none. It came with not one piece of paper with any kind of instruction at all. After lightly fiddling with the new part's pieces, I discovered a swift twist would dislodge the broken piece and open the cavity for me to simply screw this one in. Twist in the little legs that stretch into the tank to press the flush mechanism so my digits don't have to and I had a shiny new installed flusher. Simple 10/10. Shiny 10/10. Intuitive 10/10. Could Husband have installed it? Probably? Eventually? But I apparently could.
