First of all, let me say I have tried all of the highly rated skin cleansers and acne treatments for the last 6 months with ZERO success to completely eradicate my acne. For anyone else out there who is prescribed adderall or ADD/ADHD and have constant breakouts with some acne being so deep and cystic this is THE only treatment that has worked for me. I have previously used the Aztec healing clay which definitely helps but I still have at least 20 or more pimples that would constantly form on my forehead and scalp and just could not keep it all away. I have always had very oily skin but washed my face every day and always had great looking skin with almost no acne (grateful for that). After being prescribed amps for severe ADHD for the last 6 months it has made my acne explode uncontrollably. I also found out anything with Salicylic acid in the ingredients made it worse. If you have tried everything and are considering this here is what I would recommend and how I use it: First of all definitely get the Aztec healing clay and mix about 3 tablespoons of the clay powder with 1tbsp of apple cider vinegar and watch it bubble. I use a wisk to mix it while it's bubbling and let it sit for a couple minutes. I do not wash my face before doing this to rule out any possibility of a reaction between the ingredients. I do try to use very high quality microfiber towels to wipe my face throughout the day or before washing but they must be clean towels without any fabric softener used to dry or wash them. Try to get the thickness of the clay/ACV to look like pancake batter. It's ok if the solution is runny but I find this works better if its thicker because the more clay on your skin the more oil/impurities are drawn out of your pores. If you leave it out overnight it will thicken over time. I usually make 3 batches in a small plastic container I use throughout the week. I have tried using purified water instead of the ACV and it just did not work as good and it makes sense because ACV has healing properties most people don't know about. I also shave my head which does have breakouts all over not just on my face but definitely on forehead and back of my neck. Use your hand and put clay all over your face, head wherever and let sit for about 20 minutes if you can. It will tingle and it will tighten up a lot and pull your face where it may feel uncomfortable at first but that is the clay pulling out all the oils and dirt as it dries and shrinks. I will sit in front of a fan to speed up this process when I have little time. You want all the clay to be completely dry before rinsing off. Once dry, rinse with warm water. I personally do not use soap to ensure there is nothing else going on my skin or in my pores that may cause irritation or more acne problems. You should be very careful not to use dirty sponges or facial cleaning pads that may have bacteria if they sit on your sink or shower. If you have those get them wet and put them in the microwave for a minute or two to kill any bacteria you may be putting on your face every day. After you are rinsed completely try your face with a clean towel with no fabric softener used to dry/wash it. Now use the Dr. Songs. I apply a full pump squirt or two to cover my entire forehead and scalp so you may use less. I use just enough to cover the area needing treatment and I let it sit for at least 5 to 10 minutes sometimes up to 20 but no more. For some people 10 to 20 may be too long because you might experience a slight tingle almost irritation feeling. I can tell you after using this every day, twice a day (morning and night) I have not experienced any discoloration of my Hispanic brown skin nor has it bleached my hair or eyebrows. It will turn your colored pillows white though. Be sure to rinse off very well to prevent this. I have not had any negative reactions to using this product and I would consider my skin to be somewhat sensitive. I noticed results within two days and after using this product for 5 days almost all my acne was gone. I do notice if I miss a treatment or two the acne immediately comes back. So to recap, my weekly treatment is (YMMV): Sunday - Clay for 20 minutes, Song for 10 mins. in morning then Song only for 5-10mins at night. Mon & Tues: Song for 10-20mins once in morning once in evening. I usually will apply then shower allowing it to set. Wed: Song for 5-10mins in morning then in evening Aztec clay (light coating) till dry then song for 5-10mins. Thurs/Fri/Sat: Song 10-20mins in morning and again at night. I do not use any moisturizers especially any that say you should not be in the sun when using their product. I'm sure man people will need to use moisturizers to rehydrate their skin and you may need to gradually build up to this or back off of this if you have severe acne but I wanted to let people know this is more on the extreme side and these are the effects and results I had when using this regiment. Hope this helps anyone else out there having same frustrations with their cystic acne.

I’ve had adult acne since I hit 30-31 or so. Just chest and back. My face thankfully never decided it was going through puberty again. I’ve tried virtually every type of product out there, both over the counter and those prescribed by my dermatologist. Salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, sulphuric based products, benzoyl peroxide, etc. The best results for me always came from benzoyl peroxide, although I still have never found something that got me completely back to “normal”. As anyone with body acne can probably attest to, you can be acne free for an extended period of time, but when a few zits come, they leave their mark. (Literally. Yay!) These red marks could last for weeks or even months depending on the size of the zit they came from. That makes finding a product which gives you long lasting acne relief a huge plus if you want to have any type of confidence taking your shirt off. So far, this product from Dr Song is easily the best benzoyl peroxide option I’ve used in that regard. My typical routine is to wash my skin in the shower, gently rub Dr Song’s benzoyl peroxide into my chest and back, leave it on for maybe 2-3 minutes, then rinse off. Night showers mean I have virtually never had bleached shirts for those worried about that. It took about a week for my skin to acclimate to the product, but since then it has been very high quality in my opinion. My skin cleared up within 1-2 weeks after acclimating. It hasn’t been completely perfect. If I miss even a single day, there’s a good chance I’ll see a few of those lovely red marks pop up. That has always been the norm for me though so I can’t blame that on the product. What I can say is that this 1) cleared up my skin very quickly, 2) does not have a noticeable smell (I’ve got a sensitive nose for reference), and 3) after acclimating to the product, it has not caused me to dry out at all. Those are basically the “big 3” as far as I’m concerned for acne products. I’d recommend this to anyone. Give it some time before deciding to move on. Definitely put it in damp skin. I think my week-long acclimation was largely due to putting it on dry skin initially. (Habit due to the product I was moving away from.) Once I switched over to putting it on damp skin, I was more or less good to go.

So to preface this: I'm a mixed-race male with asthma, and most aftershaves set off wheezes and attacks. To compound this, shaving is actually quite the pain because my skin is sensitive enough that my normally cystic acne forms pustules all over the shaved area- like an acne version of razor burn. My facial hair is thick, coarse, and extremely curly, which usually makes shaving it an issue as I'll need to run the razor over it multiple times in order to actually cut it (to make matters worse, my facial hair has an annoying habit of curling around and growing back into my face, furthering irritation. This is on top of the cystic acne I already have). My cystic acne is a pretty mild case, but using a razor would create tons of surface blemishes (20-30+ depending on if I shaved my neck the day before) and several new, very large, blemishes deep under the skin. This wash works... well enough. Honestly. I've loathed shaving for the past 5~ years because I basically avoid doing it as much as possible, and then had to run things like alcohols or alum blocks over my face to try and reduce the razor burn acne flare ups. This wash isn't 100% perfect, I still get 1-2 occasional zits on the days after I shave, but I'm getting better results than I ever got with Proactiv or other benzoyl peroxide products. 1-2 zits deep under the skin is a far cry for the inflamed, red mess that would usually result on my neck. It handles the surface blemishes pretty well, too, which is pretty important as I need to keep on top of that to shave every day or every other day. I still get blemishes on my neck but my neck at least isn't super painful from them which is a tremendous improvement, overall. There were days when I could hardly touch my neck, especially bad during the summer time. As for how to use the product... I dunno. The instructions say to put it on then wash it off, so I shave before I get into the shower, wet my face well, slather some of this on then leave it on for however long it takes to soap up the rest of me and then rinse everything off. Seems to do the job, but if you need to leave it on longer than 30-60 seconds, I wasn't told to do so. I hit my face again with it at night, making sure that I at least take my shirt off before doing so because this will bleach and ruin your clothing if it touches it. Overall, it's not too bad. Doesn't dry my skin out like other reviews have stated and by the time the day is halfway through my face is already very oily, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Not a bad product, definitely made daily shaving much more comfortable.

I didn't want to write a review until I had the opportunity to use this product for at least 2 weeks since I didn't think it would be fair to judge the product only after a few days. Packaging: When I received the package, the bottle was wrapped up in bubble wrap. I know that others have had experiences of the bottle breaking or receiving it with the solution out of the bottle, but that was not the case for me.Packing was pretty good. Product Appearance: The bottle has a very simple look as many of the pictures show. On the back of the bottle, there are not too many words other than the ingredients, instructions on how to use, etc. The instruction on the bottle simply says to use the product to cleanse your face 1-2 times a day and then wash off after use. My Experience: For me, it didn't feel like the instructions were as descriptive as maybe I would like it to be just because it left me feeling unsure about exactly how to use it(i.e. do i rub it in, how long do i leave it on my face, etc.), but I ended up rubbing it into my face and then leaving it on for 30 seconds to a minute before washing it off. I like to apply it before I head into the shower. I used the product once a day (although I believe you can benefit from it greatly by using it twice a day. Immediately after using it and drying my face, it made my face look and feel clean and dry. I typically have a more oily face, but that wasn't the case when i finished washing it off. I didn't expect it to moisturize so that was fine for me. It took maybe 2-3 days of me using the product to feel like I was seeing a reduction in size of some acne spots I had on my face. After using it for 2 weeks though, I have seen a great reduction in acne appearances on my face. What I appreciate most about this product is that you can use it on your face, your back, your thigh, groin, just about everywhere. It also doesn't have really any burning sensation on the face or body so felt like I could leave it on me for a minute or two and then wash it off. I like to think leaving it on for a bit helps it sink into your pores possibly. Overall I find this to be a super awesome product and I will be definitely getting more of it when I run out. Of course as a consumer I wish I could get it cheaper since 8 ounces can go by pretty quickly, but I simply love that it works for me. Tips for using the product: In short, I would say that for me I rubbed it into my face, left it on for about a minute(or longer if you have the time and you don't find any irritation), and then wash and dry. If you can use it twice a day, that is best. Also it is just a face wash, so it is important to invest in some acne face cream as well to really help your skin out throughout the day.

I purchased the bottle on the right(green) in July 2023. When I first used it I didn’t notice a huge improvement but with time I found it did help. I ran out and purchased a new bottle. The manufacturer or seller did not update the listing to say the ingredients and packaging has changed. I’ve seen other brands change things with their products but they have the courtesy to update their customers so that they’re aware. Unfortunately I purchased without knowing. They started using Distilled Water instead of Purified Water. They added Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine (it may have been previously listed as Coca Betaine), Polyglucose, Hyaluronic Acid, Pure Lavender Oil, Pure Orange Oil, Xanthan Gum. They took out the potassium sorbate, & disodium EDTA. So a lots changed . These are inactive ingredients but i’m not sure if the formula change will cause a difference in the result the product gave me. I will try to come back and update if I experience anything different. I trusted this brand but after this I may return or find a new product brand that I can trust will not change their product. It seems like Dr. Song has changed their products several times.
