can you change the strings on this ukulele?

You can change the strings on any well made (from a reputable company) ukuleles. I even switched the strings over because I'm a lefty, and since the bridge (the white bar for supporting the strings on a ukulele) is completely symmetrical there is no drop in quality of sound or usage!

is it easy to tune makala ukulele?

Yes, I use my phone app, and sometimes clip on tuner. Mine came with Aquila strings, and hardly ever needs tuning, and I've had it 3 mos.
