How often should you use this cream? I have a 5 week old, should I be applying this after every diaper change?

You can apply it after each diaper change until the diaper rash is gone.  Apply a small amount of vaseline on top of the ilex cream to lock it in.   Works very well for my granddaughter who has hirchsprung disease.

is it as thick as zinc oxide which gets all over clothes

Its not the same texture as zinc, its thick and more gummy... its doesnt get all over clothes... im using it for diaper rash (skin breakdown)... i dont think its to be used like zinc for sun protection

Modified white patrolium is the active ingredient. Inactive ingredients are Calcium/Sodium PVM/MA Copolymers, Corn Starch, Phenoxyethanol and lsopropyl lsobutyl Butylparabens, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose and Zinc Oxide.

Last year when I had my 4th child, she developed a rash while in the PICU. She still had it after 3 months of spending a couple hundred dollars and nothing working. Her rash just got worse and worse. Eventually it started to bleed nd blister. We tried every over the counter medicine that could be applied to a diaper rash and we tried prescription ones. So i did a ton of research and came across this stuff. I had to order it from England at the time but i didnt care. When we got it, we applied it to her rash right away. Now, this stuff will basically adhere to their bottom and can stick there for a few days even. Originally I thought that was nasty and unsanitary but i went ahead and left it on her until it came off on its own like the instructions that were in the box stated to do. It took two days. I kid you NOT, her rash was a really light pink and almost completely healed. It took two applications and it was gone. The person below says to use vasoline in addition to this. I assume it is because the ilex does stick to their skin. You can use vasoline and then put the ilex on top. It will still do its job. But if you dont have any vasolibe or just want to use it as is, just don't peel the ilex off. It will come off when it's ready. A bath woulf also loosen it up a bit as well too though.
