Q: Can't figure out how to attached hose head..am I missing a piece?

If you zoom in on the main photo on this product page, you should be able to see both pieces of the quick release fitting. The right end of the hose shows one of the quick release fittings--the larger piece with a hole in the middle. The nozzle shows the other piece of the quick release fitting, which is smaller and has a skinny fitting that "plugs in" to the hole in the larger quick release fitting. To connect those two pieces together, you need to slide back the outer "sleeve" of the larger fitting. This will retract the three ball bearings on the inside of the fitting, and allow you to insert the rod of the smaller fitting (attached to the nozzle). Then, just release that outer "sleeve" and the ball bearings will snap back out, and they'll grab the "groove" in the smaller fitting to hold it in place. Hope that helps.

Q: so i don't need the quick disconnect fittings..........does the hose have standard 3/4in faucet male and female hose ends?

Yes, the hose has standard 3/4 GHT (Garden Hose Thread) fittings. Although the quick release fittings come pre-installed, they are just screwed into the standard fittings and can be easily removed. The quick release fittings can also be used at either end of the hose (faucet or nozzle end), so even if one end will be permanently attached, the quick release fittings could come in handy on the opposite end.

Much more versatile than just for boats!!!!! Superior quality!

The quality of this hose (and all Olmsted Forge products) is the best I've seen and sure beats those cheap plastic hoses from China. All the fittings are brass so they are designed and built to last. And the wider hose means you get much greater water flow. My only complaint is that they don't offer a hose longer than 25' which is rather short for gardening needs --- so I connected two hoses together and now have a 50' length which is infinitely better. PERFECT!Amazon is doing a dis-service by marketing this as a boat hose

Disappointed

Disappointed at this price point that both ends did not have a quick connect and that the nozzle came broken. I'm hoping the quality of the hose itself will be worth keeping it.

complete crap, leaks everywhere at the connection between nozzle and hose

its no good leaks terribly at the connection between nozzle and hose, there is no washer to stop it

Good pressure. Good quality.

Happy with it. However beware if you’re buying for boat in saltwater, the fittings won’t last. Which was kinda part of why I bought it. I liked the quick connect.

This has a larger diameter hose so it has much better pressure than regular coil hoses. We are very happy with it. Great quality.
