Real Cooking

I bought this book last year for my husband to encourage him to cook.He doesn't do much cooking ,mainly due to the fact I enjoy doing it myself.We have since eaten some memorable meals~( being a man he makes sure he has the exact ingredients and follows recipes exactly!) Lamb mince with parsnip topping is so good he has since made it for a meal with friends.Nigel is a bit heavy on the garlic and seriously undercooks his meat in my view, but this book is a good read and a real find.I have just bought two more copies for presents.

disappointing from a man I respect for his cooking...not really for the plain cook like me...to much going into dish...was looking for more of a plain dish...costs me to much...sorry nigel...

I love Nigel's recipes. So easy to make and lovely book to read too.

A very good source of quality recipes, well presented ,easy to follow & wonderful to read. Nigel Slater is such a no-nonsense down to earth writer that is honest ,funny & enjoyable. This book inspires your own efforts to turn basic food into scrummy meals.Having only a few of italian cookbooks (Seeds of Change & Italian farmhouse cooking + a very old Elizabeth Davids boxed collectionProvencal cooking) I have already found Real cooking a delight to use.

I'm a huge fan of Nigel Slater and this follows his classic style and beautiful recipes that make me long for simple food
