Surprisingly eatable.
I am building a bunker to last out the aftermath of a hurricane and always on the lookout for foods that have a long shelf life but that don't upset my sensitive stomach. And here it is. I've tested this product during non-hurricane-aftermaths and felt no ill effects. Also found the product a much higher quality of meat than I expected.

Good taste aand tender chunks
Be aware there is a lot of broth in the can. It is not full of meat.

Just like I had when I grew up
Although the meat was not as chunky as I remembered, it tasted the same and was equally great with beef/noodles. Very Amish/Mennonite, it is the brand I had when visiting my uncle's farm . VERY easy to use and adaptable to any recipe calling for canned beef. There is nothing added to the beef, and it does not taste 'tinny.' I used one can with one pound of egg noodles for my dish...and my with and I had it two days in a row and then some. HIGHLY recommended NOTE: I now buy the two-pack of smaller cans and use one can to 1/2 pound of egg noodles for beef and noodles

Apparently good meat, but the cans may not be as full as expected
These days it's handy to have some food supplies on the shelf, so I ordered up some Grabill canned beef chunks. Canned meat should last for years, doesn't require refrigeration, and precooked meat could be eaten out of the can in an emergency. I chose the Grabil beef for it's apparent quality, with the "Amish" tickler adding a hint of practicality. The chunks of meat in the cans are irregular, so they fit loosely in the can. The second can I opened was only about 2/3 full. The quality and taste of the beef is very acceptable, and if you're feeding a family the can size is OK. However, I was a bit disappointed in the deal. I've continued to look for precooked canned meat that's packed a bit tighter in cans about half the size, to make it more useful for an entree for one or two people. And, I'm considering meat packed in gravy rather than water. If you are looking for meat that's precooked, in a quantity suitable for three or four hungry mouths, the Grabill Country Meats canned beef chunks is a very common sense choice, and it's reasonably free of additives.
