Style:1 lb | Pattern Name:1 Pack Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay contains 100% Pure Calcium Bentonite Clay, which has been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial or body mask. Cleopatra used clay from the Nile River and the Arabian Desert over 1800 years ago, as part of her beauty ritual. German and roman spas have been using clay packs and treatments in the spas they built 4,000 years ago. Many of these spas still exist and use clay even today. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is calcium bentonite clay harvested from Death Valley, California, where it is sun-dried for up to six months in temperatures that sometimes reach 134 degrees. There are so many uses for our clay: Facials, acne, body wraps, clay baths, foot soaks, chilled clay for knee packs and insect bites. Enjoy the benefits of clay in your own home. Beautify and refresh. Aztec Secret is proud to introduce new and improved product packaging exclusively for . Buyer Beware: This is NOT 100% Aztec Indian Healing Clay
After originally purchasing a single container (from another seller on Amazon) and achieving great results with my naturally curly hair, I decided to purchase a two-pack from this seller. The packaging looked authentic but when I opened one container, I thought the color was a little off. When I mixed the mask with apple cider vinegar, it bubbled like usual, so I didn't think anything of it. However, after my treatment, my hair felt dry and wiry. I went and bought a container from Whole Foods and sure enough, the color and consistency were different. The clay should be a deeper shade of olive green and more granular. The two I received from this seller are more baby powder-like, as if the clay is mixed with cornstarch. I'm adding a picture to note the difference. The top is the clay I received from Amazon. The bottom is the one from Whole Foods. I will be returning my purchase and will not buy from this seller again.

Great for Type 4 hair
I love using this stuff on my hair. I have tight type 4 curls (they're really tight and really small spirals). I find I get the best results when I use a little clay and a lot of ACV for a watery consistency. My hair just soaks it up like a sponge. The only thing I don't like, is the fact that the clay is hard to get out of my hair, so even if I don't let it dry on my hair, I still find little bits of clay (looks like I have sand in my hair after a trip to the beach) even after multiple washes and rinses. My only solution is to use less clay and more ACV, but maybe soaking the hair, moving it around in still water and letting the clay settle at the bottom would work?) The bits of clay don't bother me that much, because I've continued to use this stuff for years.

It great!
mmmm this clay is awesome <3 Its lasted foooorever and it never disappoints! I like to put some in my baths for detoxing or make a face mask with it with apple cider vinegar and activated charcoal and it clears out my pores so well! The day after using it, my face is so smooth and soft and my pores look clean and smaller. Ive used it so much my fiancé is now doing it with me!

Satisfied - use hair and acne
No complaints. Only surprise was that I did not realize it was green clay. It is only tinted green and not a bright obnoxious green color so this did not end up being an issue.I am using it for hair detox and acne on my teenage son. I thought it helped his acne. The small closed bumps reduced and the over all number decreased with use. However, the inflammed acne bumps seemed brighter. I was not at all perturbed by this since after reading almost all of the reviews I suspected the deep acne would be drawn out and look worse before it gets better. I will update this review if I notice otherwise. Meanwhile, I am working on my son's consistency in use :)As for the smell - the problem is that people are using apple cider vinegar (ACV) that holds its smell more potent and longer. If the smell is a problem then simply use plain distilled white vinegar. I only noticed a whiff of sulfur upon mixing it that was gone by the time it was fully mixed. It does bubble up - pretty cool. I found it was less irritating and easier to remove when I added a little olive oil and water instead of all vinegar. It took longer to dry but was easily remove with a silicone edged utensil (spatula) over peice of paper towel. This is much cheaper than the food grade and I was unsuccessful in finding out if they use high grade steel or not in the mining - since the contact with any other metal can neutralize its detoxing potential. This was the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Anyway, it is a lot for the price at about $6/lb when wholesale food grade can be purchased at $9/lb. If you are using it frequently or in large amounts this makes sense.

Miracle for cystic acne
I was very skeptical that this would work on my cystic acne, but it’s a miracle! My advice (what works for me)1. Add a pinch (1/8-1/4 tsp) of Dead Sea Salt (Not epsom sat or other salt)2. Use Apple cider vinegar not water3. Use it every 1-3 days when your skin is bad then once or twice a week for maintainence.Observations1. When this dries it doesn’t pulse, it’s so itchy I want to scratch my skin off! That being said I don’t think it’s more effective to let it dry, just add a touch more vinegar or even water to the edges of you feel it itching.2. The redness only seems to be an issue for areas that it’s dried, so just keep moist. It does disappear after an hour or two.3. It may clog the sink, shower, or tub with frequent use, so Make sure to flush with lots of water or even some vinegar.

My go to Mask
There is a reason why this mask has so many great reviews! It is amazing and such a good price and value! As it dries it does tighten like crazy! I have sensitive skin and my face is red for an hour or so after! I will say you have to be careful when rinsing off as it comes off in chunks and could potentially clog your drain. I find that it works best with apple cider vinegar. It definitely cleans out your pores and makes your skin feel super soft after.
