We second Arlene's answer! It can be grown as an annual in cooler climates (below zone 8) if you have around 200 days of frost free temperatures; Zones 8 and above it will perennialize. Thanks for the question.

Can its grow in the Caribbean

Ashwagandha is propagated from seeds. In India, it is cultivated in regions with low rainfall right after the pre-monsoon in the beginning of rainy season in hot and humid conditions in temperature around 75 – 85 F (25 – 30 C). It is a drought tolerant plant and grows in dry soil, once established. So if the climate is similar in the Caribbean then I think it can be and if the climate is not similar then I presume the answer is no.

How about growing in central south carolina

Hey there! Thanks so much for your question. If you've got around 135 frost free days following transplant, you can make it work. My suggestion would be to start the seedlings as early as you can in a greenhouse and transplant them as soon as danger of frost has passed. Hope this helps! -Quin
