Pirates Coloring Book (R.J. Hampson Coloring Books)

Another wonderful book from RJ Hampson. Each of his books contains bits and pieces of his imagination. The books are great fun to color, there's humor, levity great story lines. You get more than just a coloring book you meet great people in his books.

Love this artist’s style. Cute images for pirate coloring. Paper is typical Amazon paper for the edition I ordered. Highly recommend this artist’s books! They have fun characters and variety of scenes. I also like how you get two versions of each page!

Clean lines and cute pictures

Single sided (with exception of small inset drawing) 2 sets of stunningly witty illustrations. The pirates life is indeed for me! Cannot wait to see what R.J. does with this book when he does duplicates with a difference! I will be repurchasing it!

My son has been obsessed with pirates lately and wanted a pirate coloring book. I own A Frog’s Tale and a couple other coloring books from R.J Hampson and when I saw there was a pirate one I knew it would be good. My son absolutely loves it. It is pirate-themed without being scary for him. We also love reading the little captions for each picture.

I really wanted to love this book. I do love the pictures. They are so cute, and very detailed and should be a lot of fun to color….. however the paper quality is that of a child’s coloring book. It might be a bit thicker but it absorbs marker like toilet paper. It would be better with crayons but I feel like pencils won’t work either. SO disappointing when the pictures are so cool. I won’t be ordering any more books from this creator unless of course the reviews specifically say that the paper is high quality.

Love this! The illustrations are fun and there are two of each which is great. Can’t wait to see more!

Wer die Arbeit von Russell J. Hampson kennt, weiß, wie detailliert und liebevoll er zeichnet. Und das spiegelt sich auch in seinen wunderschönen Malbüchern wider (es gibt noch ein zweites über Steampunk-Häuser, genauso bezaubernd.) Alle Facetten des Piratenlebens sind gezeichnet: Vom Sturm über die Schatzinsel bis zum Schlafliedchen, um den Feind irrezuführen. Es kommen wilde Seebären drin vor und schneidige Pirate-Girls, See-Ungeheuer und eine Piraten-Bar. Jede Seite erzählt eine Geschichte, oft spannend und immer witzig. Es gibt jedesmal ein kleines Gedicht zur Erklärung (englisch, aber gut verständlich), und dann kann man sich mit den Farben austoben. Manche Seiten sind etwas einfacher, andere wieder so detailreich, dass man stundenlang seine Freude dran hat. Also für jedes Alter etwas. Das Buch ist nur auf der rechten Seite bedruckt. Das ist prima, denn dann kann man seine Bilder ohne Verlust heraustrennen. Und es gibt jede Zeichnung zweimal. Eine hervorragende Idee, finde ich: So können zwei Kinder das gleiche Thema malen, oder man setzt seine eigene Idee in anderen Farben um. Ich hatte das Buch für ein Patenkind gekauft, er ist ein leidenschaftlicher Piraten-Fan. Aber jetzt brauche ich vermutlich ein zweites Buch: Ich werde mich wohl kaum von meinem eigenen Exemplar trennen können.

I'm gradually growing my R.J. Hampson book collection and this is another great one. I bought this after R.J. updated some of the illustrations and they're all great. 100% recommend!
