I tried another product claiming to be for ink jet printers but as soon as I wet the paper to transfer, the ink ran like water. Is the ink permanent

The paper is water proof, not the ink. They have no idea what ink you are using the don’t claim the ink to be waterproof just the paper they are selling. You must seal the ink to prevent smears. The instructions state to seal the printed image.

Per the instructions, you are supposed to place the decal print side down after soaking it in water. Does that mean I have to reverse print my decal?

The instructions I got. After printing you are siding the backing off as you place the decal on your project. No you do not have to reverse printing if you have the same as I purchased.

Is one side of this sticky?

Hi! There isn't a sticky side on this type of paper. However, one side will have a different finish - It should feel coated and slightly glossy. This is the part where you would your image on. Hope this helps!

Is it dishwasher safe?

It is not recommended. When using Hayes Paper Co, It is best to hand wash all the mugs and or plates.
