This is my third time buying this item. The first time, it did not work due to the damage to the tire is too big. The second time I used the full bobble to fix several small holes in the 20x4 tire, and worked. This time, I used half of the bottle to fix a couple of small holes in the 20x4 tire, it worked!

This stuff really works! I was buying tubes one every month. Guess he likes to hop the curbs and go 4 wheelin in the hot Florida sun. I bought a bottle of this slime and I haven’t heard a word about needing a new tire. It’s been about 6 months now.

I’ve used Slime products for years, and the sealant itself is great ,it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Once in the tube, it seals up small punctures quickly, and it’s saved me from being stranded more than once. For that, it earns a solid four stars. Now for the gripe ,the stem removal tool that comes with the bottle is laughably bad. It’s just a thin plastic cap with two small notches that are supposed to grip the valve core. In reality, it either slips right off, barely engages, or strips the edges of the valve. On my first try, I couldn’t get enough torque to even loosen the stem, and the tool flexed like it was about to snap in half. I eventually had to dig out my separate metal valve core remover to finish the job. If you’re buying this, I strongly recommend having a proper metal valve tool on hand, because the included one is more of a decoration than a functional part of the kit. The sealant is worth it , just don’t expect the stem remover to actually help you.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS This tire sealant gives you the protection of a "tubeless tire" without having to switch over I like that it comes with a Valve Core Tool to remove the valve core, although you could just use tweezers or something similar to unscrew it Installation is simple: deflate your tire, with the valve stem rotated on the upper half of the wheel, remove the valve core, connect the plastic tube from the bottle to your valve stem, and squeeze the appropriate amount for your application (check instructions for amount) I really wanted to switch over to Tubeless Tires purely for the protection (they're also lighter), but would have to invest more money than I wanted to. With this product, I get the protection of Tubeless Tires without the added expense.

I wish I had read more reviews before I installed this product and I'll tell you a couple of secrets that might help you. It might make the difference between a success or a fail. The first important thing you need to know is the difference between a "valve stem" and a "valve stem core". The valve stem core is one part of the valve stem. It is very small, It is about 3/4" (19mm) in length and has a diameter of 5/16" (4mm). It inserts into the center of the valve stem and has two slots that allows a tool to screw into the stem. You don't need the tool for this project because the cap on this product serves as that tool. But if you own that tool, I suggest to use it instead of the product cap which is plastic whereas a vale stem core tool is made of metal. When you are reading the reviews for this product, people will say "I removed the valve stem". That is not necessarily what they mean. Generally what they mean is "I removed the valve stem core". I do not want to undermine anyone here because with some tires you can literally remove the valve stem and replace it with a new one. However, that is not the case for example with a bicycle tire that has a tube, because in that case the valve stem is part of and molded to the tube. I used this product on a bicycle with two "off road" tires each with a tube with a molded stem. Both tires would only hold air for less than one day and I can't say where the leaks were, but ever since my stepson rode the bike when the tires were completely flat did I have that problem. Previously I used a product called "Fix-a-Flat" on both tires and here is where it gets more complicated and the secrets come into play. If you have previously used Fix-a-Flat on your tire, I suggest NOT to use Slime. Replace the tube because your valve will most likely be gunked up. But here is a secret ... put a few drops of isopropyl alcohol into the valve stem before you remove the valve stem core. Slowly remove the core. As you remove the core the alcohol will drizzle into the stem and possibly clear the gunk. After you remove the core, put a few more drops into the stem. One of two things will happen: A] The alcohol will clear the gunk and allow the Slime to go into the tube. You are in luck. B] You are unlucky and the Slime will not flow into the tire tube no matter how hard you try. On my front tire, I was unlucky. This is not the fault of the Slime product, it was my fault. On the back tire, I was lucky and was able to squeeze in about 4 ounces of Slime. Now for the next secret. After you inject the Slime into your tire tube, clean the valve stem with alcohol and a cotton swab (q-tip) and then insert either the old valve stem core or a new one. I inserted a new core, filled the tire up with air and I could hear air leaking from the stem. This was telling me that I did not tighten the core up enough. I attempted to tighten up the core some more but the valve stem was trying to rotate on me so I got a pair of pliers to hold the stem in place while I tightened the core with my tool. I tightened it too much and broke the valve stem. Fail. That's your next secret ... do not over tighten the core. Again, this is no fault of the Slime product, but me being ignorant. I ended up replacing both tires and tubes which cost me about $70 which is more than I paid for the bicycle, but now it's a really nice ride and I have it locked away in the basement so my stepson can never use it again. I cannot speak for the product directly, I feel like it's a good thing, but I hope my information helps you.

This slime is certainly worth it if you prefer to bike it around town. It is so easy, even with city riding, to get a foreign object in your tire, that it can really ruin your day and your ride! 8 oz though, is perfect for two bike tires. After two weeks of absolute bliss, riding around on my ebike back and forth to work, I had an issue. I ended up with a stick I thought was in the spokes, pulled it out and unfortunately - watched my tire deflate. So- I replaced the back tire ( with help from Mr. Awesome) added, 4 oz of slime, and then added the same to the front tire which had a slow leak. Adding the slime with the added tube made it very easy. You just remove the core, and pump it in. The added protection to the tube is worth it to seal up any previous leaks or future leaks. The directions are right there on the side of the bottle as well, and slime will hopefully protect your tires for two years, instead of the original two weeks without it! I have learned the hard way in the past though, that you may want to keep your bike out of extreme heat! I've had a popped tire before, and a sticky mess. 😂
