Great Coffee Table Book for Decor
I got this book for decor but also the history inside and the beautiful neutral color that fits the colors I am leaning towards for my office/glam room. Hair is an important part of the black experience and it is just a cool book to add to your decor.

Great Gift for a Friend
Gave this to my best friend for Christmas. She loved the photos and illustrations so great that they were included. While she was aware of some of the history, she did learn a few new things. Well written, easy to read (not so "academic").

Beautiful black history & culture!
The art work plus the education was pleasantly surprising! I didn't know exactly what to expect but I'm glad I bought it. My purpose is to show my 2 daughters this. I want them to understand the history and be proud of their hair color & texture. They believe right now at 14 & 15 that they need to fit in with the masses. My hope is to educate them out of that but maybe that'll come in time. Their mom & gma continue to perpetuate the stereotypes of "good hair". We gotta unlearn somethings in what we as a people consider "culture". I got my work cut out for me. Fighting against social pressures and prejudices of family & social media feels so impossible right now.
