Do I need an external pre-amp for this turntable?

Not if your amplifier supports MM. check your amplifier specs.

Connected table to my speakers using the rca cables, plays through them fine but it's really quiet when volume is on full, help? it's not the speakers

Hi Jess make sure that your phono connections are plugged into your you phono input on the amplifier. Your turntable should have a moving magnetic cartridge so the correct input is required on the amp Regards HiFix

I have (very) old sanyo speakers which came with a 10 stack cd player i bought years ago - would they work with this turntable or should i upgrade?!

You will need an aux function on your system and RCA connection points on the back of your system (the red and white cables with plugs on the end) you will need to buy a small preamp to fit between the turntable and your system otherwise you will not get any volume through the speakers, any preamp will do, you can pick them up fairly cheaply and it will work fine, I run mine through a CD system and I am very pleased with the sound quality.

Received mine today just finding out can anyone else hear the motor when running on 33 and louder on 45?

When I start mine up on 33rpm I can hear the motor until it gets to full speed, after that it runs silently. At 45 rpm there is a very faint noise even when the motor is at full speed. It is really quiet and I hadn’t noticed it until I listened out for it when I got this request

Fantastic Turntable, Totally Recommend

Got this 2 weeks ago and have just upgraded it with a Ortofon 2M Blue stylus, fantastic turntable, very quiet operation and excellent dynamics. Had a At Lp 120 before this and this blows it out of the water.
