I also stand on concrete and pavement all day. I put three stacks of phone books under the foot of my mattress so my feet stay elevated when I sleep. After the first week of this my feet and calves felt much better. Sounds silly but it really helped me.

It comes with the standard NB cushioning. Which is very comfortable. I use it for two applications: work and as a sports official. NB also makes a steel toe model of this shoe.
