Solid Vacuum
We bought this to replace our Kenmore canister vacuum, which was more replacement parts than original. We bought this because it was well rated on Consumer Reports. We needed something that could handle area rugs and wood floors while not taking up too much space in our small apartment. I agree with other reviews that the cord is very stiff. Does this negatively affect the vacuum? No, but it's worth mentioning. I do wish the cord was either on a swivel or that it retracted into the vacuum, since the cord position does make it awkward to wrap the cord for storage since the cord at the top of the handle will be pulled 180 degrees downwards. It makes me worried about wear and tear as time goes on. The vacuum is very lightweight. I do agree though that due to the bulk of the weight being at the top near the handle, it does put some strain on your hand as you maneuver. It's not world-ending though. People complain about the size of the canister. I don't care that it's "small". I can see how full it is and it's really easy to empty and re-insert. Takes less than a minute, so it doesn't really interrupt my vacuuming. On the old Kenmore, we often didn't realize the bag was full and would keep using it anyways since we'd have to physically open the case to check the bag status. It's nice to easily see how much the Shark has picked up and when it's time to empty. The Shark is very powerful. The first time we used it on the rug, it picked up so much dirt that our Kenmore had been missing, even with adjusting the pile level. I typically chose either the rug or hard floor setting on the vacuum -- the sensor mode does an OK job, but sometimes it will switch floor types which won't always be the best setting to use. I personally don't like the odorizer. I have it on the lowest odor setting possible. Thankfully the smell dissipates quickly. Overall, for $200, this is a good vacuum. If it were to break in 2-3 years, I wouldn't be too upset and would just purchase another.

Powerful suction for a lightweight vacuum
This is my second Shark vacuum cleaner - I thought the first one did a good job, but this one does a great job. The suction is incredibly powerful for such a lightweight vacuum. It does a good job getting up dust and pet hair, too. The self-propelled feature is also powerful, maybe a bit too powerful because it wants to move quickly. The cord length is ample. I wish it had more tools - it only comes with three. I have used the removable handheld vacuum as well as the floor stick - both are easy to use. My only minor complaint is that the dust bin is a little more difficult to empty - the release lever doesn't open and automatically "dump" the contents. You have to pull the cup open which requires two hands. I do recommend this item.

Nice daily vacuum
This vacuum is a great in between macine, it's more powerful than a cordless vac, and weighs a lot less than a regular vacuum. The cord reaches most of my house from one central plug in. It's great for stairs, to get dust bunnies out from underneath the dinner table, and quick vacuums. I will say you might vacuum with a heavier vacuum occasionally for deeper cleaning, especially if you have deep pile carpet. That said you'll probably be fine with this one. 🙂

Great little vacuum
So far I am loving it. It works extremely well on bare floors, and the carpet/floor extension can be easily removed, leaving you with a small handheld vacuum that’s great for cleaning the car or dusting. It also has an unusually long cord. My only complaint is that the dust container is very small. Really small. Fortunately it’s easy to pop out the bin and empty it. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

Powerful suction
I love that you can change settings between low rug/hardwood to carpeting/heavy rugs. It picks up all the dog hair and the no tangle self cleaning brush actually does what its supposed to do. Long cord makes it easier to go through the house without unplugging to many times. Not to heavy but definitely heavier than a cordless. But you make up for that with suction power. Great vacuum.

I bought the wrong model but I like it just fine
I decided to purchase based on Mr. Erb's video review. Unfortunately the model Mr. Erb bought is not the model I apparently bought. I wanted that head that attaches and lights up that he said he uses on his pet's bed. That's not in my box 😔 I had to come back to his video to figure out how the dust cup comes out. The instruction book is horrible and doesn't adequately explain it. His video makes it very clear. I hesitated to buy this vacuum because of everyone who complained about the cord. Of all the things I could complain about the cord comes in last. Is it stiff? Yes. Is it a problem? No. It's more difficult to wind it up to put it away but I stored mine just like Mr. Erb did. Handy tip. My house is very clean. I live alone, no pets and never wear outside shoes in my house. I never have company because I don't know a soul who lives here. I clean weekly and just completed my spring cleaning last week. The dust cup was about 1/4 full of the finest white dust. It almost looked like cement dust but my sub floors are wood because there's a basement. I have new carpet and tons of tile. The only carpet I vacuumed was my living room and did all my tile which is probably 750-800 sq feet. I was shocked when I saw that powdery substance. My upright is a top of the line Oreck. I feel very confident the new Shatk is doing a better job. The two things I found that are inconvenient are it's top heavy & did bother my shoulder & it's really hard to get out of the park position. When you step on the foot release the handle doesn't fall back, you have to point your toe down so it presses the foot release and doubles as resistance on top of the vacuum head so the handle snaps back. I'd buy it again. Let me add that today I vacuumed my carpeted areas another 800+ sq feet. I had just vacuumed those last week with my top-of-line Oreck. Today the debris canister was 3/4 full of that same white dust. Needless to say this Shark has much better suction than the Oreck. This has turned out to be the best $300 I've spent in a long time. I'm going to see if I can purchase separately attachment Mr. Erb used on his dog beds. I upped my stars to 5. It's a good little vacuum. I've since contacted Shark directly & the power pet bed attachment does not fit the PoweDetect w/Precision Duster. Sad about that.

Very nice!
So impressed with this vaccum! I have used cordless models for years and never wanted to go back to corded. We have wood floors and area rugs and it was fine for this. We recently put berber carpet and rubber mats in our basement and I just felt like I needed xtra power. This ticked all my boxes and it works great! It's a light vaccum for a corded and it's easy to use. Love the lights and I can see the display without having to put my glasses on! Berber is sometimes hard but this had no problem and did my rubber mats too. Glad I bought it

Great vacuum?
I got this vacuum because I wanted an expensive vacuum that I thought did everything. However, it wasn’t what zi thought it would be. Pros of this vacuum cleaner. It’s tall, it has accessories to use on furniture and the stairs. The top comes off and you can put into the bottom vacuum part which works well while cleaning the stairs. The suction is really good, and it is very sturdy. Cons of this vacuum cleaner. They put the wheels so close together that the vacuum doesn’t stand up by itself and falls over, which I have no idea who would design a vacuum like that. Especially when you have to keep stopping and either take the top off and lay it on the floor or lay the whole vacuum down. Very frustrating! And the dust collector is very small, so you have to constantly dump it out frequently. And they put the dust collector in back of the vacuum so you can’t even see it, to see if it’s full unless you look keep an eye on the back of the vacuum. The accessories are kind of hard to use because they don’t pivot around. I have a Shark Apex I got in 2021, which isn’t as advanced or have all the bells and whistles, but it stands up by itself and works really well and was much cheaper. I’ll keep the vacuum because it does help with cleaning the furniture and the stairs well, but I’ll use my cheaper one for most everyday use. It was on sale. If it was full price, not really worth the money.
