What are the bristles made out of? It looks like two different materials in the pictures.

There are two different types of bristles. If I remember correctly, one fuller, longer "needle" type is used in the interior of the tree to fill in spaces, so you can't see right through the tree. The other shorter "needle" type are on the outside ends of the branches.
