Love this product!

I bought this because every sunblock I own eventually gets in my eyes and burns the living daylights out of them. I prefer to use something that isn't laden with chemicals, is cruelty free and reef safe so this looked like it would fit the bill and indeed, it does.It is a true "no tears" formula which I very much appreciate. As with so many zinc based sunblocks there's still a slight "Kabuki mask" effect but it isn't as bad as some of the other zinc products. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's easy to spread because it doesn't have a lot of "slip", doesn't glide like the non-zinc products. You do have to work with it for awhile to get rid of the decidedly chalky consistency but once you get going it seems to be okay. I think somebody else mentioned using a moisturizer before you put it on which seems like good idea even though this is supposed to be moisturizing.Would I purchase this again? I'm pretty sure I will because the "no tears" aspect of the product is important to me. I'll probably use it with a light carrier oil on my face first, let that oil sink in and then put this on top. I hate sunscreen in general--for it's texture and smell. But, being the palest family on Earth makes it a daily necessity. I was pleasantly surprised to actually like the smell of this product! It's a light fruity fragrance. It has a smooth texture like lotion and glided on my skin without being too thick or greasy and no white marks. A little goes a long way too! I could hardly believe I was putting on sunscreen and not regular body lotion. My kids had no issue with it either! They let me put this stuff on their little faces without complaint since it goes on so smoothly. Most importantly, this product did it's job and we were sunburn free. The tube is small--4 ounces--but I don't care because it's so worth having something that goes on easy and doesn't make us greasy and stinky. I used this on myself and children all day long at a water park. We made sure to follow the directions and reapplied every 80 minutes. It worked even better then the name brand chemical filled stuff my sister purchased to use that day. It wasn't sticky and it was super easy to rub in leaving no sign of sunblock.Very very pleased with this product. I do want to add to keep this away fron children's eyes. If it gets near the eyes it BURNS! I will buy a seperate product for the face.

Don't forget to cover up. Some sun exposure is beneficial for you, but you can't stay in it all day without cover up or sunscreen. This brand is pretty good. I have not had any issues or reactions. It also smells awesome. It goes on smooth and it doesn't leave a white residue afterwards.

We were looking for a sunscreen with pleasant smell for our particular little one. This was perfect! And no burns all summer, yay!

Holy moly allergic reactions!!!! I bought this stuff for our trip to Costa Rica since they request biodegradable sunscreen for swimming at national parks. Applied it to the faces of my kids and my own face. Before I could apply it to the rest of the kids’ bodies, my middle kiddo complained of a burning feeling. I replied that maybe some of it got in his eyes, but as I turned to look at him, his face was as red as a tomato and swollen. My youngest complained right after that with the same look. And my own face started to burn and itch and turn red. Only my oldest looked fine although he said it made his face itch. We quickly washed off with soap and water and the swelling started to go down. Luckily, I had a tube of biodegradable sunscreen from Mexico in a pocket of my suitcase from last year and we used that instead. But it was very scary for a bit there. It’s really too bad too because it applies smoothly, smells like vanilla but not overpowering and seemed to absorb quickly without leaving white streaks. We have never had an allergic reaction to anything in our family (well, besides pollen) so this was a new experience for us. I did not even think to test it on a small patch of skin first. Lesson learned. Will never buy another Alba item. This could have been worse, at least the reaction reversed itself once this was washed off, but it could have really ruined our vacation. At least I brought Benadryl with us, but I did not need it.
