Strong, sharp, and afforable.
Heard a lot about what a crap job this Bowie knife is, but I can't see anything wrong with it. It was sharp out of the box. It's well made, and it's affordable. Just because a knife may cost a hundred bucks or more, doesn't mean it's any good. This knife puts a lot of the more expensive ones to shame.

third one I have owned
I am 65, bought this knife at kmart in 1974 and paid 12.00 at same time bought my first buck 110 folder for 10.00 someone liked it more than I did. saw another one at another kmart three years later and same thing happened to that one but had to pay 15.00 for that one when sold by kmart it was stamped on the blade as with the first at base of blade western my brand new one is not. I swear my new one and sheath are identical to the first two in every way but the stamping of manufacturer. still made in china, still an awesome knife very strong and heavy great chopper at almost 1/4 of an inch thick and came almost razor sharp the edge was slightly rolled over but my butchers steel took care of that. this one stays home.

For the price it looks good
It is a pretty knife and displays well. Bowie knives are not good woodsman tools. They are too heavy and difficult to carry. The machete is a better tool. If you like to have a nice knife to hold a look at, this one works. You are not likely to get into a knife fight, but these big knives invite the fantasy.

It's good as a beater
You get what you pay for. It's good as a beater, but don't expect much. I sold it for a small profit on ebay after owning it for a few months.

Received it today seems like a very good knife
Receive the knife today very sturdy no delamination handles a little blocky but I can deal with that for the money a very great deal the metal seems to sharpen quickly and hold an edge over all very satisfied

great for price
my dad bought me one of these at a tool sale for $9 when i was a kid... still have it. although it wasnt pretty or sharp. wooden handle was rough and the brass handguard and blade were dull to the finish. i sanded and restained the wooden grip and used diamond metal polish (found at walmart) to clean up all the metal and now it gleams! then sharpened the blade. now its a beautiful knife and sharp too. cant complain, it was only $9 at the time. the sheath isnt anything special but does its job. if youre looking for an inexpensive hunting bowie and dont mind putting a little tlc into it (if it even needs it) its worth every penny.

For the price, this is a fantastic knife. Well put together and solid. Fairly sharp right out of the box.

Upon first inspection it appears to be a decent knife...the sheath is however alittle cheap

Surprisingly nice sheath. Worth it for that alone. Knife is good too. Had a layer of oil on it to protect it so be sure to be careful when you get it. Box is cheap but inside is great!

it came in chipped and dull, was able to sharped it a little but i might have just gotten a bad one, the knife is VERY big, its more like a mini sword or something

Great knife for the price. Good balance and weight, great sharpness out of the box. Nice sheath included.
