Weeds Complete Collection

This is one of the best deals on a TV series I've seen. Not only do you get all 8 seasons with all the extras, you also get an Ultraviolet copy that if purchased separately would actually cost MORE than this set does. Significantly more. All in all, this is a fantastic value, and not a bad show piece.Many people have mentioned this, but the packaging is a bit...odd. The outer case is a transparent green plastic that's been glued together. The plastic itself is okay, but I have concerns about the glued pieces. I feel like a normal cardboard cover would handle a drop better than this would. Obviously the plan is to never drop it or allow it to fall, but I feel like it's worth mentioning. In a similar vein, the plastic container doesn't grip the inner case at all, where a cardboard one does, and allows it to slide out slowly. Even tipping it the wrong way could cause it to fall out too quickly and be damaged.As for the inner case, it protects the discs very well, assuming you never ever use them. It grips them in such a way that you have to grab the discs from both sides and in pulling out the discs begin a scratching process that only gets better(worse) over time. I would recommend relying heavily on the digital copy for regular viewing, and only using the discs for the special features.Still, it's a good deal and a decent show piece. It just happens to be poorly designed.

All the past reviews I've seen concerning the packaging of this dvd set, made it seem very difficult to get any of the dvd's out of the slots. Well, it looks like the packaging has been altered because of all the complaints. Instead of there being 2 discs in each slot, which would make very hard to get the discs out without either scratching them or cracking them, the packaging company set it up so there are 17 slots for each of the 17 dvd's. They are still a bit tough to remove, but I put on a rubber glove and was able to slide each of the discs out fairly well. Now, instead of having to put each disc back in it's slot, which is still a tight fit, I just put each of the 17 dvd's into 17 separate plastic dvd holders and numbered each of the holders with the season. If anyone wants to use this suggestion when buying the complete collection of "Weeds", this might help them a lot. A magnificent series from beginning to end!!!!

Ok so if ur here you know how good this series is. Now let’s start with the complaints the box is beautiful and badly made. So here is what u do first get a microfiber cloth u can use it to pull out the discs, when u pull and twist left and right the disc will pop right out. Now this comes with Digital Copy for the full series so if ur into Digital there is no need to even take the disc out you can leave it all pretty in ur collection and stream the Episodes. This is truly one hell of a deal the full series Digital on Vudu, iTunes Amazon and other places is over $60 on a good day sale. So don’t miss out because of a box that’s a bit of a drama queen.

Glad that I read the reviews first. But, I'd like to say that the packaging is lovely. I'm normally an impatient person whenever ordinarily simple things become difficult for me. So I was very understanding of the frustrations that the previous reviewers dealt with. However, one of the reviewers mentioned that they took their time getting the discs out from the very tightly fitting sleeves, so I followed their lead.Apart from all of that, I'm very pleased with the set. The shipping was said to be delayed, but I still received it two days before I was expecting it.

If you enjoyed Orange is the New Black or Glow, this is another Jenji Kohan great. Like most of her writing, the earlier episodes are excellent, but she runs out of gas before the series ends making the later seasons less enjoyable. In the case of Weeds, season 7 is not great and season 8 is awful. When I rewatch this show, I usually stop at the end of season 6 because it has a logical ending without the two additional seasons bulking the series up to syndication status.Moving onto the packaging, the story book case is cliche. I am glad I spend the minimal extra money on the Blu-ray edition. The packaging is so tight, I don't know how you could get a DVD out of it without damaging the much more fragile disc.

I love this show and have been waiting the last 6 months for the price to go down only to purchase the set and be disappointed at how awful it was packaged nothing in order disks falling out of the box while the disks are working it's still a mess to even try to watch the entire season I'll go with a different seller in the future

Series Review (No Spoilers) - Five StarsI refrained from trying this series until after the show ended, because I figured it was like Beavis & Butthead - people getting high and laughing at anything and everything. There is a little of that, but for the most part it's a very complex, dark comedy. The basis of the show is the business side of weed-dealing in suburbia, but also takes the cast through literal and figurative, unexpected journeys through the eight seasons. I've binge-watched the series several times since I first tried it.Packaging Review - One starThe outer-packaging of the Blu-Ray discs is admittedly cool-looking and unique, but as mentioned in other reviews, the individual disc-holders seem cheap and make it difficult to remove the discs.

This is hands down, the Best Series Showtime has ever produced. And Mary-Louise Parker just tore the lead role up. I would always think of Fried Green Tomatoes when I saw her in something because her acting was so phenomenal in that movie. However, with WEEDS I believe she has totally outdone herself and I could never see anyone else playing that role. If you haven't seen this year is yet watch the first 5 episodes Season 1 and you will be addicted.As far as the box that goes it is a lovely way to buy them all at once as a collector's item to enjoy. The cost of the Blu-ray box set is definitely worth the price as you will probably spend more on buying two tanks of gas for your car.

Sat in my cart forever. Favourite show ever but couldn’t reason. Bought it and will never regret it. So happy.

I’m a big fan of this tv show! It was removed from Netflix in my country so I decided to buy this box and I really like it! It so cool! If you are a fan like me I’m sure you’re gonna love it!

Far fetched and so detached from how real life could be... but I'm hooked. Great characters, funny story line and with a serious plot.

La serie es excelente y venía muy bien protegida en cajas para que no se maltratara, el estuche esta de lujo, muy brillante la caja verde de plástico que protege el libro tipo álbum donde vienen los discos, aunque es difícil sacar los discos de su lugar, el diseño esta genial. Cómprala antes que suba de precio.

*If you are avoiding buying because of other review regarding packaging* Not sure if they changed the packaging but the case that it came in was awesome! It comes in a plastic green container but inside the DVDS are in a book (kinda like a small photo album) and each "page" has the seasons, episodes and pictures.Have ordered a few complete collections that come in a bulk case and have always been disappointed, but not with Weeds!
