When I received this item I checked the electronics board inside. It looks substantially different from the original Cadillac. Therefore, I was skeptical it would work. Once installed the button on the outside of the trunk did not work immediately, only the button on the driver door and the one on the key worked, (I thought it was already an improvement as the trunk was now usable). After, 2-3 cycles of switching the car on and off and trying the various commands, all works seamlessly now. Obviously some commands had to reset. The part has been working perfectly now for about 3 weeks, since I replaced it. I am happy as it made me save substantial money and I have all the functionalities of my trunk. Not OEM, but who cares. If it will stop working I will update this review.

I purchased this item to replace the one in my wife's Cadillac that had been burnt out due to some leakage of rain in the rear compartment. After getting all of the water dried out and resealing a few areas, I found it super quick and easy to not only locate the module in the car, but to replace it with no hassle at all. Plus I saved a ton of money due to having fixed the issue myself. So far, this item has worked flawlessly.

I was trying to help my sister out in dealing with her rear door problem. At first we went to a few garages to get a quote. Most of them looked at the fried module but then also mentioned that possibly the wiring harness in the door, or the lift mechanism itself, might need replacing too.My point here is this, buying this cheap module can be a way of testing/proving that everything about your car is in working order, other than your module.The module itself is an iffy thing. Sometimes the door works fine, other times not. Restarting or turning off the car (doing something that changes the power to the module) usually makes it work.I that's too much trouble for you, and since when the module does work it proves your door's mechanism is OK, you could then have a garage install a higher quality module.

this pice works great. If you have a Cadillac and the rear hatch not working, then this is probably your problem. we have found out water from sunroof drains into the Trank. And when the water drains, a lot of water goes there. then the module is under water. that's right (under water) and shorts out and stops working. The dealer wanted over 300.00 dollars here only 80.00 bucks' great deal. there is a Vido on YouTube showing how to instill. It only took me about 45 minutes good luck.

So, first thing I noticed is the plastic box is different. I’m pretty sure you could just take the circuit board out and put it in the original box to make it fit the bracket in the car. I did not do this because I had no intention of putting it back where it was so it could get flooded again and go out the next time it rained heavily. In my case, I’m working on the 2012 srx performance. I hooked up the 3 wire harnesses and flipped it up so it would be out of the water if it flooded and zip tied it there. At least until we can fix the flooding issue. As far as working, I plugged it in and immediately hit the trunk down button and…. Nothing. Freaked us out for a second, lol. But I did it again in about 10 seconds and it finally worked, just needed about 30 seconds I guess. All buttons are working, remote, trunk close and trunk open on the gate itself and the driver door button. Hopefully it continues to work, and if not I’ll come back here to revise my review. Also, of course, SUPER easy to install. No tools, just plug and go! Good luck with yours!

Lift gate on my 2012 SRX stopped working. Internet search pointed to water near the spare tire due to clogged sunroof drains. Found my module soaked. Pump and motor was also wet, but not corroded.Installed this module. Lift gate now works with switches on lift gate and driver door, but not with the key fobs. So, fixed but not completely.
