The adhesive backing is sticky I’m confident it’ll stay in place. Just make sure to prep the area with alcohol so it’s clean before applying. It looks really good against the black paint of my truck. Just keep in mind that It’s a thin layer of vinyl, not hard plastic so people need to be realistic with their expectations. It will serve the intended purpose but will wear out quick if you constantly step on it. If you drive a car, I don’t see any reason you should be stepping on the door sill at all causing any damage to it. If you have a truck, you probably already have running board or side steps installed so there’s no reason to be stepping in it either. For the price and looks after installing, I’m very happy with it.

While the guards themselves seem to be robust and attractive, the adhesive that holds them seems to be of inferior quality. When installing I first noted the adhesive when I spotted the backing. Instead of the usual "3M™" branding on the backing tape, I was greeted by a repetitive "M M M" symbology. Yeah, "three M" my left foot. While installing (four guards) I had two instances where the adhesive easily peeled away from the guard. I thought this may have been caused by the warm temperature and the fact that they weren't installed yet, but already had my doubts. Also while installing the adhesive, compressed by me pushing down on the guard to install firmly, began to creep out from under the edges of the guard. I decided to leave it to see if it would creep back, but so far no luck. Probably will have to trim this adhesive to keep a clean look and prevent debris buildup. Have had one guard come partially unstuck since installation. Drivers side door, so most (all) traffic has been through there, and I believe I caught it with my shoe while entering the vehicle, but it peeled the adhesive away from the car, and from the guard. I reinstalled it as best as I could, time will tell if it continues to hold or not. The adhesive is excessively stretchy, so getting it back on the back of the guard required a bit of patience and some artful folding of the adhesive. Due to the folding required to keep the adhesive behind the guard, it again began to creep out from under at the fold. Overall, the quality of the guards themselves seems to be good, but the knockoff adhesive is dragging the product down. Would not have been adverse to a couple dollar increase in price to ensure quality *actual* 3M adhesive.

Simple and easy to install and gave me a little protection where my brand-new car with nothing. The thickness was great too. Not just some silly tape covering the paint. I can sleep at night now and wow what a minimal, fabulous price. I didn't place the product perfectly so think about it and pre-position before you take the tape off. This is a great way to protect your door sill from unsightly scratches and damage. These are made out of actual rubber and not a thin colored piece of "vinyl tape or film". See attached pictures. This item comes with 2 front and 2 rear protectors. Installation is very easy, but proper preparation is important if you want them to stick and stay in place. You must clean the area you plan to place them very well. I like to use Dawn dish soap (great for grease) to first wash off the area, then dry it. Next i use alcohol and did a quick wipe over the area the adhesive will be. You can let it air dry or wipe it dry. First place the piece and adjust until it's exactly where you want it. Lift up a few inches off one end and peel off the liner over the adhesive and press the exposed adhesive down. That will secure one end so that you can use one hand to guide and the other hand to peel the rest of the adhesive off while guiding it down for a perfect alignment. As you can see in my pics, it came out perfectly using that method to ensure it ws going exactly where i wanted it. It has not lifted up at all nor will it move due to properly cleaning the area. This seems to be a great product. The testwill be if it peels off later. Very easy to install. Looks great. I was not able to get "Kona", so I went with "Sport".
