Great tool just what I was looking for.

I used to have one of those cheap $20 kits for doing cat5/6 ends but threw it away when I realized how unreliable the connections were (75%+ failure rate).I got this (and a set of new ends+boots) and I've seen a big improvement so far. Most connections are good, but sometimes my tester says conductors 7 and 8 are open. I *think* this is an issue with the ends I'm using, but I'm not sure. The problem looks to stem from the plastic dividers between the conductors getting damaged by the crimp process. It's only the last 2 that mess up, and after using a blade to clean it up, the connections are solid.Assuming my problem is with the ends I'm using and not this tool, I'm happy with it and highly recommend it over those ultra cheap ones. It's a pain to spend all that time wiring up the connectors all perfectly only to have the crimp process fail and be forced to start over.

Smooth crimping action, when using non passthru connectors it will shave some plastic off but they work fine.The included scissors cut cable without issue and include a wire comb on the backside of the blades. The cable stripper also has an RG-6 adapter built in and the holster has room for pliers or a slim cable tester
