Molto bello

Power creep
It's a great read but I had this nagging feeling of power creep. The villains start to become so powerful that Gon and the gang seemingly need almost godlike powers to stand up to them. This might lead to issues later on when one just can't bring out any tougher villains without it seeming absurd.

A Lot Is Going On, but Keep Reading!
Hunter x Hunter, Vol. 21 is an escalation of events. Training is over. The Chimera Ant King is born. The king is an interesting character, with a deadly stinger and a ruthless personality. Meanwhile, Gon and Killua cannot go to Neo-Green Life, but they can go to East Gorteau, where a suspicious gathering is taking place. Also, Kite has returned, but in what condition? And 12-year-old Gon is forced to go on a date with 22-year-old Palm (a mild double-entendre).A lot is going on in this volume, to say the least. Knuckle and Shoot are interesting additions to the heroes gallery, and of course, Chairman Netero is a welcome addition. While earlier volumes contain ongoing arcs, this volume felt like 10 stories at once. My advice to the reader would be to enjoy the stories as they come and don't look at this volume as a “book.” It really isn't written that way. ****
