A must get
Perfect for my old tv that still uses this and it was so easy to set up and a great price and sounds wonderful and it has worked for a long time which I love since some people make things so cheap nowadays

Great for that old TV set that you want to use in a garage or workspace.
I've used this HDMI to old-style TV converter before and I am very happy with the price and performance. There are many of these on the market, but this is the only one I've used that converts (and slightly compresses) the image so that it fully fills the screen on the old CRT TV. Others will "letter box" the image and attempt to preserve the normal HD aspect ratio. Since I use this in the garage, on an old 12" CRT TV, the letter box approach reduces an already small image to an even smaller picture. With this device, the central part of the program fills the screen, and very little is cut off. (People do look a bit skinnier, though.) I've used these now with Firestick and Roku set-top-boxes. Video quality is excellent, and the stereo audio is great. If your TV, like mine, only has one audio IN jack, you may want to also pick up a female-double-Y to single Male out jack, so you can hear both right and left channels of sound.

HDMI adapter for with no hdmi port
Bought this adapter to connect a new fire stick to an older LCD, non-smart tv without HDMI ports. It has older red, white, and yellow (audio/video) composite ports. Simple install - 1. Connected the red, white, and yellow composite cables into the back of the TV, noting the 'AV-In' option. 2. Connected the fire stick into the other end of the adapter box and wall outlet. 3. On the side of the adapter box I selected NTSC (US) for my specific geographical location. Plugged the additional electrical cable provided into the side of the adapter box and wall outlet. 4. Under TV 'Menu' options, l located the 'Input/Source' setting and selected the same 'AV In' option I used, where l attached the red white yellow cables. The firestick then began loading apps on the TV. Followed onscreen fire stick installation instructions. The picture is clear and audio is great! Highly recommend adapter at this price point! It really works and I was about to get rid of the 50β tv because the hdmi port was ripped out!!!

Good product

It does everything except stay connected!!
This was the second one of these I purchased. So much better (and cheaper) than buying a new smart TV, I thought. The first one lasted forever, and I loved it. So when it finally died, I decided to buy another one immediately based on the success Iβd had with the first one. No such luck this time. The performance has been extremely poor with the second one. Technically it DOES work, but it freezes regularly, disconnects on a whim, restarts whenever it feels like it, hums loudly, and shows a gigantic thermometer on my tv screen from time to time after it disconnects. I thought maybe Iβd gotten a defective unit, but now that I am reading other reviews, I see that other purchasers are describing problems similar to mine, so the problem is systemic with this product. So, I will not order another one, nor will I recommend that anyone else buy one either.

Kind of glitchy
So, this installs very easily and does what its supposed toβ¦kinda. It seems to glitch every now and then, especially if the adapter is jostled, and requires disconnecting and reconnecting to get it working again. The video quality isnt top notch either. For this kind of product, you really do get what youre willing to pay for. If you just want something inexpensive that you only need for limited use, then this will do. However, if this is something that you will use a lot, then id recommend spending more to get a higher quality product. Im not really blaming the manufacturer as they can only build this for this price point by using inferior materials. You can tell since all of the higher quality decoders are quite a bit more expensive. I seriously doubt that any of the adapters around this price will perform much better than this.
