A very simple book, introduction into criminology. Very good

An excellent introduction to the subject. As a non-academic with just a passing interest, it was clearly laid out and all the main ideas were described in simple, plain language. The repetition of points the author thought were important got a bit annoying but I guess students would find them useful. It was particularly good to see the focus was on the criminal system in the UK. As a Brit I frequently struggle with texts from Amazon that concentrate on the US procedures that I am unfamiliar with. A great and educational read.

Unfortunately this book arrived damaged, despite being ‘new’, this cosmetic damage aside, I am throughly enjoying reading this book. It’s very well written and informative. I have the Sandii Mann - Psychology book also which has been invaluable during my first year degree of Neuropsychology (I just wish I had it from the beginning instead of half way through)I’d absolutely recommend this series of books to anyone wanting to advance their knowledge, each chapter ends with a short ‘quiz’ which I find helpful.

Bought this for my Granddaughter for Christmas as she is studying Criminology

The different types of crime and the pereception of the society towards those crimes are quite all explained for an introductory Criminology book. Recommended

If you want a general overview of the subject of criminology, then this is a great book to begin your studies with.

Until I read this book I did not appreciate how many types of crime there are, it was amazing to see them all listed and described. The book takes its reader through the whole field of criminology and as such would I think appeal to any student of the subject. As an interested reader, but not having any involvement in criminology I found it interesting to learn how justice is administered, but also to learn about the limitations of the legal and criminal systems. Well worth reading.

For those who want to understand the criminal mind as an educational subject, this book certainly provides.
