Delicious, cooks evenly, high in protein
These lentils taste amazing – rich, earthy flavor and they keep their shape after cooking. Perfect for soups, curries, or salads. Great source of plant-based protein and fiber.

Yummy!
High quality Beluga Black Lentils. This is my husbands Amazon prime account. I’m the one who ordered Clear Creek Beluga Lentils. 10/10 recommend. This was my first time ever cooking them. I made a Creamy Vegan Beluga Lentil Curry Ginger Soup with Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Bell Peppers, Yellow Onion, Celery and Garlic. Starting it by frying the vegetables in Ghee and Organic Unrefined Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (makes a huge difference!!), I use a brand called Nutiva. Finished off with fresh cilantro, spinach and lime, once the lentils and vegetables were soft. I always use any veggie broth. This time using the whole carton of Imagine No Chicken Broth, and a carton of Simple Truth Organic FF Vegetable Broth. I did also add a can of fire roasted crushed tomatoes. I rarely add water to my soups to avoid diluting flavor. I used about a tablespoon or more of Frontier Co Op Organic Curry Powder with Corriander, Turmeric, and Mustard. A couple teaspoons of Frontier Co Op Organic Garlic Granules, added a half teaspoon of store brand mild yellow curry powder, and salt to taste. Blended about 1/3 of the soup before adding greens in the blender with a can of Let’s Do Organic heavy coconut cream for a smooth rich creamy texture. The Beluga Lentils held up perfectly. Rinsed them and picked them over. Soaked for 10 minutes prior, just so they cook evenly. Not necessary. They did take about 30 minutes to soften to our liking. Not mushy at all. Great nutty taste. The soup was fantastic. We ate it served over Japanese sticky sushi rice. 👌🏻Clear Creek is a USA brand, family owned. All the belugas are grown in Montana. I’m proud to support an American small farm. Not to mention the price is right. Definitely will be ordering from Clear Creek again.

Very fresh and excellent quality -- get them while you can!
Best price, with Prime free shipping, on the Internet for these delicious lentils. Just wish Palouse Brands would package a size in between 4-lbs and 25-lbs . . . like 12-15 lbs.

Makes a lentil salad that much more special - sprouts well, too!
These lentils sprouted beautifully for me and also cook up beautifully - garden variety store lentils can't really be compared as the brown lentils kind of go to mush, not that this is always a bad thing - India chefs prize red lentils for just that quality. But Caviar lentils can be cooked and still be a little toothsome, in a very nice way. As a practical matter, I will still often turn to the everyday brown or several varietals from my local Indian market, but it's nice to have the option with these to really elevate certain dishes. Wonderful cooked and then added to salads!

High quality and delicious
These lentils appear high quality and clean, with no visible debris in the bag and few broken lentils. I used it for dal and it was delicious, great texture and flavour. I also appreciate that no plastic is used in the packaging.

Delicious Lentils In a Paper Bag That Didn't Withstand Shipping
Fortunately, Amazon's shipping carton was tightly sealed. The paper bag containing Grown in Montana Black Beluga Lentils was torn along the bag's bottom seam. At least half the lentils had exited the bag, but were in the shipping carton.. After I removed all the lentils from the carton and weighed the contents, it appears some may have been lost when the bag was packed in the carton. Purchased weight was 4 lbs. Actual weight was 3 lbs. 10 oz.I've already cooked two cups (dried) and they are excellent. I do recommend following the recommended washing, at a minimum. I washed several times until the water was clear. These are not duPuy French lentils, although they make for a far less costly substitute. I definitely will buy grown in Montana black lentils again, but from a branding that uses sturdier packaging.

Great product, nutritous but on the high price side
These are great. They are supposed to be better for you than regular lentils. My husband likes them better than regular; I can't really tell much difference. The price is high for the average family. I will only use them intermittently because of the price.

Perfect on anything
These are perfect to put on salads, stir fry, oatmeal etc.Simple to make. I love that they are so much smaller than black beans and the taste is very neutral.
