Ascension Deckbuilding Game: Ascension Eternal

My grandkids love playing this 2 person version of Ascension. It's a great way to learn the game - simplifying it so they get the basics down before moving on to the more complicated versions.

If you are curious about Ascension and you are ok with 2p only (which is the best player count anyway) this is an excellent way to get your feet wet. You get a fully featured based set that is pretty vanilla (but that's what you want when you start out) and has enough components for two players. The small box is also very nice, you may want to get this as a travel sized kit even if you are an experienced player.

I love that this is sort of the "Greatest Hits" of Ascension. This is pretty simple; none of crazy events/cards that pop up with other Ascension expansions. Perfect for 2 players, which is what I needed for most times I play. Wish the board was a little bigger (really... honor tokens cannot be placed on board where labeled). This version best suited for beginner players.

I haven't played any others in the Ascension series but I do own many deckbuilders. This is easy to learn. if you've played Star Realms, Hero Realms, Shards of Infinity or anything similar you can just scan the rules for any minor differences and you're good to go. The included board isn't really needed but makes setup even easier since it's all laid out. Even with the board the game footprint remains small. One thing I prefer over some of the other deckbuilders is how the game is scored. In many of them you battle to the death so only the winner has points at the end, everyone else scores 0. Tracking the points is also made easy in this one with the crystals provided. For a 20 minute game it's pretty good.

Such a fun game. This is the two-player edition but can be combined with other sets to have up to 6 players.

Pensé que el idioma sería un problema, pero con inglés básico y/o un traductor, se juega excelente. Recomendado para todos aquellos que les gustan los juegos de construcción de mazos.

Me gusta el hecho de que sea muy portátil, es solo para dos jugadores, pero está bien porque es el número recomendado para jugar cualquier ascensión.
