Heavy Duty Keyhole Hanger with Phillips Screws & Anchors, 20 Pack

I recently did a shower remodel in our home, and I had to custom-make the shower shelf so that it matched the fold-down bench bought. We really wanted the shelf to be a "floating" style, and I wanted to avoid using L-brackets if I could. I ordered these heavy duty keyhole hangers after the first set I ordered were too thin and were also too big for the wood on the shower shelf.I had to carve out the space for the keyhole hangers with a dremel. For the best stability, I carved the spaces deep enough so that all parts of the keyhole hangers were flush with or below the wood, this would allow the wood to sit flush on the shower walls and provide extra stability. I made sure to install studs/blocking for the screws that would hold the shelf. I used one keyhole hanger on each side of the shelf. The screws for the keyhole brackets went deeper than the other ones I've seen, and it made me feel confident they wouldn't rip out of the shelf.The end result was fantastic, and it's definitely sturdy enough for a shower shelf for hygiene bottles, etc. Now we have our floating shelf that matches our shower bench.On thing about these keyhole hangers, the screws don't sit completely flush with the bracket. They're countersunk some, but not enough to be totally flush. If you want the screws to sit flush, I would suggest using a countersink bit or a drill bit the same size as the screw-head. Just be careful not to screw all the way through the metal. In my case it didn't matter because the keyhole hangers were lower than the wood, so the screws weren't sticking out at all. But your project might be different. However, these are the most heavy duty and robust keyhole hangers that I could find, so I don't think you can do better than these unless you make your own.

Did not include 2 sets of anchors, just one type which are not good at all. But do you ever expect to get exactly what’s described on Amazon? I sure don’t anymore. Order air filters, get a book instead. I am lucky it even showed up on time, or at all.

These keyhole hangers are ok. They come supplied with screws. They are machine stamped leaving them bowed in the middle. They work but they will not seat flush. If you are looking for perfection this is not it. I would rather have paid more for higher quality.
