Yes, I'd say so. As long as they're not too heavy. My kids struggled to pick up mini haribo packets, as they were awkward and slipped, so we put maltesers in. Great fun.

Does this fit the yellow kinder egg containers?

Yes. But if you put more than maybe 6 in the grabber has no space to pick up the egg, and it has to be a really light item inside or grabber cant hold weight

Could you use 5cm squishmallow in it?

No it is really small and not very sturdy made of plastic
