Birthday present for my husband who loves steak. Great price! They came in a burlap type bag that ties with 4 inserts. Classy and nice and sharp!

Those knives are good - a bit on a light side, but once you got used to them, feel pretty naturally in a hand. They are sharp and cut steaks perfectly - I did not notice any tearing of the meat, as mentioned by other reviewers. Knives are indeed made in Spain - it is written on a blade so it's not a German-made knives (if it matters to you). The red wooden box - actually, made in China and you can see where Henckels brand name start to deteriorate. Our box was bent so much you could not even close it properly. I mean, common - you are selling a Gourmet Set - make sure everything is perfect. Brand-name German knives made in Spain with the box made in China - it could be funny if it would not be sad. So if you don't care about the box so much - you can get pretty good steak knives for a decent price.

Very sharp, cuts meat as if it is butter.

These perfectly match our 20+ year old Zwilling knives. Other than the writing on the blade being a bit blacker on the new ones, you can’t tell them apart. So I know they will give us many years of use. They stay sharp, they don’t rust, and the handle is a nice size and shape, it feels balanced, not heavy in my hand.

The number of positive reviews here speaks volume about the quality of these steak knives. I've been shopping around for a high-quality set of sharp steak knives for over a year already. I was initially planning to go for the Pro-S steak knives (4-set) since it complement my Henckels Pro-S knife collection, but I've realized that it cost 150 bucko here on Amazon! This twin-gourmet set is considerably less, and I decided to try it out. To my surprise, this is a very good set of knives. It has a small serrated section at the front 1/3 of the knife (near the tip), while the rest of the knife is non-serrated edge, but still pretty sharp. These knives fit perfectly into my Henckels bamboo block; as I quickly threw away the generic retail packaging. The knives have a nice weighed feel and cutting through beef and chicken into small chunks is easy. For the price I'm paying on Amazon, it's very very hard to find a better value. Of course, my Henckels kitchen knives are sharper, but their purpose is totally different. As for the cons, I realized that one of the knives has faded logo/etching (reject maybe?). Also, to shave cost, there is no bolster between the blade and the handle. Take a look at the Pro-S picture and you can clearly see the difference. Nevertheless, this is a great set for the price, and a good stopgap until I can afford the ultimate Pro-S steak knife set.

The knives came neatly packed in a box. All items were in good pristine condition.

The set was the perfect replacement to our 10 year old steak knife set. The knives fit in my hand perfectly with a great balanced feel, and cuts through meat very well.
