Even I can get perfectly cooked vegetables every time!
I love this bowl! I was slightly hesitant about ordering it because I felt that $40 was risky but I don’t like microwaving in plastic and I love the idea that it is set up to drain the water easily. I have only had to flip the lid one time to avoid thin sliced carrots from draining out and it worked perfectly. It is so easy to clean. Surprisingly, even when I microwave it for quite some time it has never been too hot to the touch for me to remove the lid without a mitt. It makes it so easy to cook vegetables of all kinds. I wish there was a little cookbook that came with it. While experimenting, I have found that when microwaving certain vegetables I like to have the water covering the vegetables to avoid them becoming dry and evenly cooked. This was true with carrots as well as brussels sprouts. I did the huge brussels sprouts for eight minutes and they came out perfect for me. With broccoli and cauliflower I put in just enough water to steam. I like my vegetables a little crispy except when I am doing cauliflower creamy potatoes (minus the potatoes). It was so easy and I am not a cook! I microwaved the cauliflower and added some butter and cream as well as salt and pepper. I drained it and then popped it in my vita mix and blended it with a little more cream and it came out amazing. You can even do it with purple cauliflower or orange cauliflower for fun! I was disappointed not to have a second one today as I would have loved to have two going at once. I have decided to order another. I rarely write reviews which I feel a little bad about because I rely on them heavily when I am making purchases such as this. When I saw there were not a lot of reviews I felt that it was important to get the word out that this company is the real deal. I love it and it feels good to be able to eat conveniently as well as healthy without the worry of microwaving in plastic.. I hope this company makes it! Thank you so much for this amazing product that makes eating healthy delicious and convenient. I was not contacted or asked to do a review on this product! It is so amazing! It has exceeded my every expectation and I love it! Oh let’s not forget that it is made in the USA! Worth every penny!

Replaces plastic steamer in microwave
Great alternarive to steaming vegetables in the microwave without using plastics. It also works for heating any other foods in the microwave. It's not large but it has a good size for most needs. Easy to use and serves to store foid in microwave especially if lid is turned around fir a tighyer seal. Cleans perfectly in the dishwasher.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MICROWAVE GLASS FOOD STEAMER!!! I'm buying a 2nd one today!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MICROWAVE GLASS FOOD STEAMER!!! (I have never left a Review for products I have bought from Amazon in the past, but love this food steamer so much, I have chosen to write a review on it!). I was looking for an alternative to the plastic microwave steamers I have used in the past (for safety reasons). I love that product it is made from glass. The vents are well placed so as not to burn the person using the steamer. The handles are convenient. I also like that you can drain both smaller and larger food sizes by turning the lid over. The price was a little expensive for me, but I feel it is worth every penny! I am so happy with this product that I am buying a 2nd one as soon as I am done with this review!

Worth the price!
Like another reviewer wrote, no more excuses for not eating my veggies. I don’t like using plastic cooking gadgets in the microwave. This glass steamer is perfect. I’ve steamed broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, squash and I have even used it to make omelets or scrambled eggs in the microwave. I use it most often for broccoli - I put half an inch of water on the bottom, pack it full of broccoli florets, steam on high for 5-6 minutes (I like my veggies really well done). The openings on the lid make it easy to drain the water and I can enjoy my veggies in no time. Washing this steamer is a breeze and I use it daily. It’s pricey but compering to plastic alternatives, for me it’s worth every penny.

Overpriced. Doesn't work very well for steaming vegetables.
I was looking for a glass steamer bowl because I'm trying to get away from using plastics. I have found that this glass steamer doesn't work very well for steaming vegetables. The holes in the lid are too big to hold steam in , and that means you have to cook the vegetables longer, which is bad for preserving nutrients. I also think it's overpriced. $60 for a glass bowl? Too late to return it , so i'm stuck with it.

Works nicely until glass breaks off and you eat it.
Was great until part of the glass lid splintered off in my food, and I bit into it while I was eating. 😳. I thought a piece of my tooth had broken off, but spit it out, and saw it was glass!! So I think I will be looking for a different glass steamer bowl for my microwave.

works great but overpriced
This is a super handy item to have in the kitchen that alleviates a lot of the worry of microwaving veggies in plastic. I use it all the time and it does what it is supposed to do, and does it very well. However, it has no business being priced the way it is. Compared to other products that use the same type of glass, it is significantly overpriced.

Great quality product, should last forever
I love this product and highly recommend it if you like to microwave-steam your own vegetables. I was using plastic steamer bags for years until one day I couldn't find more at the grocery stores only to learn that they're no longer being offered because of the plastic leaking into your food. Needless to say, a real glass steamer product like this is a much healthier alternative and I can now steam my garden veggies without having to buy frozen steamer-bag vegetables at the store. There is some trial and error in figuring out how much water to add & how long to cook it, but if you take notes on an index card you can keep it for future reference with your recipes.

Not worth the money. It is just a bowl with lid that has a section sanded off to let out steam and pour liquid. Save the money. I ordered because it is glass and am getting away from using plastic.

Not a steamer- no steamer rack Its the same as my Pyrex - just a glass bowl witb lid - very disappointed. Should not be described as a steamer in the description

Parfait pour se nourrir sainement, carottes non coupées cuites en cinq minutes au micro-ondes, artichaut coupé en deux cuit en 10 minutes au micro-ondes, par exemple

Great product, lid a little fragile

It is just an ordinary 'pyrex' type glass dish; the lid handles are not open as in the picture in the advert; oven safe glass dishes I have already and could have bought this sized oven dish item a lot cheaper in Dyas or Dunelm. A con....it is going back.....
