the beret was perfect, the size was too big for the wearer as the wrong size was ordered.

I am writing this review because after 14 years I have to replace my Jaxon beret. It saddens me to have to replace the old traveler with a new one.For what it’s worth, the original one had the faux leather band and 14 years later it still looks new. The satin stitching is failing and my now deceased dog chewed the little tassel on top off. Something from the insect world has nibbled on it too but only I notice it. Today the hat looks like the French version of a Stetson Trail Boss after Duke got the cattle to the railhead.Sometimes you wear the hat and sometime the hat wears you. I will always be grateful I stuck thru the awkwardness of being a chubby American to get comfortable wearing it. After all, it is a symbol from a country whose national bird is a chicken.

I thought that this cap would be like another 100% wool beret that I own. That one is really comfortable and warm and pulls down over my ears.This one has a tight leather band around the forehead. I didn't understand that when I asked for it. It's not possible to pull the thing down. It only covers the top of your head.It does seem well crafted. Comes in a fancy box. If you want something that would just cover the top of your head and not your ears, it would be fine.
