This is a fantastic, good quality product. The grainy insides of the porcelain finish make it perfect to lightly pound leaves- once you get accustomed to lightly pounding leaves such as basil and celery, you'll stop chopping them up, makes so much of a difference! There is a small imperfection on the pestle, but I think that adds to the rustic charm of the product

This pestle had come damagedAlso the bowl broke in a few uses as it was brittle. I used it with minimum pressure and supporting the base with a dish cloth. Yet I could see cracks forming till it broke completely

Genuine porcelain item. Good size for regular use.
