EXCITING SAVVY THRILLER.
Disagree with the President's agenda, but notwithstanding, an enthralling unpredictable suspense, with protagonist FBI Special Agent Mark Andrews, who seeks justice for fallen compatriots. Captivating dialogue amongst the various characters -- the innocent facade of greed.

A SOLID THRILLER...
This is an updated version of one of the author's earlier novels. First published in the nineteen seventies, the book caused some of controversy in its time, because the premise of the book revolved around an assasination plot against a newly sworn in President Edward Kennedy. In this updated version, the newly sworn in president is a woman, Florentyna Kane. When FBI Agent Mark Andrews finds himself to be the last man standing, he suddenly is made the point man for a very real plot to assassinate the president in less than a week's time. The problem is that the trail leads to Capitol Hill. Can Agent Brown discover who the mastermind is in time to thwart the plot? The author weaves a suspenseful, interesting story that will hold the attention of the reader. There are enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. Those who like cloak and dagger thrillers will most definitely enjoy this book.

What would be important for an incoming president to know?
I have been reading Jeffrey Archers books for awhile. I loved the Cliff ton Chronacles. Then I found. Some of his other books. This story about a young FBI agent who learns about a. plot to kill the president moved quickly and keep me reading long after bedtime!

Well--should we tell?
Well written and the question is a surprise at the end of the book. The answer--probably not--everything had been taken care of. The mystery was carried through the book

disappointing as book three of Kane and Abel
I read books 1 and 2 of Archer’s Kane and Abel over the last few days and expected to follow characters from the first two books to be at the center of the third book in the series. They are not. And, the prose is distinctly different. I was disappointed.

Thrilling
Jeffrey Archer is at his best when he is recapturing history through his dynamic characters. It is interesting to get a glimpse of our democratic government in action. His storytelling is exemplary and should he choose to continue the legacy of the Kane family, I’m sure it will be another hit.

Should be made into a movie.
Our Jeffrey is a great storyteller, and this is one if his best. I think it’s cleverly plotted and the lead character is a believable hero. I like to read about American politics and law and order. This book delivers on both counts. I haven’t read the Kane and Abel series, but this isnt focussed on the female president of that series, in fact she’s hardly mentioned. What it is, is a thrilling whodunnit that stands alone. Go out and buy it immediately.

an excellent read
This is the 3rd book in the series. Had you not read the others, this stands on it's own and a good story. It is a typical Archer novel, fast moving and uncomplicated. The subject is topical in today's climate and easy to relate to. I enjoyed the characters who were well depicted. Highly recommended.

A good read, but not what you will expect
This book, whilst being a good read which kept me up later than is reasonable, was not at all what I was expecting. Having recently read The Clifton Chronicles, followed by Kane and Abel then the Prodigal Daughter, I fully expected Shall We Tell the President to be another epic, family type saga. This was, however, more a crime thriller, 'whodunnit' type story - not the genre I would ever knowingly choose. That said, it was a good pager turner even if the story was slightly far fetched in places. We see very little of Florentyna Kane in this, so don't pick it up expecting it to be 'Part 3'!

the best if the three
The best book I have read in years. It had me hooked from page 1. It had everything. mystery, crime, murder, modern history, intrigue. I have read all 3 of the Kane & Able series & this one is the best of all of them. They are all long reads as well so good value.

Gripping story
Brilliant read that keeps you guessing to the end. The characters come to life and the story makes it hard to put the book down. I found myself imagining what the characters looked like and who could portray them in a film and it would make a gripping film along with the other two books.
